END OF AN ERA ...

Today I handed over the keys to my unit, and all my wedding props, into the creative and capable hands of

Please follow Deborah as she starts on her wedding styling and hire journey.

CONGRATULATIONS ...

to Victoria and Steven who were married last Friday.

A beautiful autumnal day, although a touch breezy!

Flowers reflected the autumnal mood and were presented in vintage stoneware vases, sitting on tree slices. Lush foliage rings surrounded the tree slices.

Candles in vintage brass candlesticks, along with tea lights and fairy lights, added extra sparkle.

The floral arch arrangements were re-used to decorate the sweetheart table and the cake area.

RETIREMENT ... AND NEW BEGINNINGS

My retirement from the wedding industry is fast approaching and I am very pleased to announce that as from 11 October 2024, Deborah Woods will be taking over my business and premises, trading as Deborah Maria Wedding Styling ~

Deborah has been assisting me with styling weddings this season and I am very happy that my lovely props will be in Deborah's capable & creative hands, and I look forward to seeing her styling beautiful weddings in the Lake District and Cumbria in the future.

🌿 AUTUMN WREATH WORKSHOPS 🌿

I am very excited to offer two Autumn Wreath Workshops this year, to be held in October in Eaglesfield Village Hall, near Cockermouth.

The dates are Sunday 13th October and Sunday 20th October, both from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm, and the cost is £45.

All materials will be provided, and we will be using fresh foliage, autumn fruits & berries, dried flowers and seedheads to create a beautiful wreath on a wire base, covered with sustainably sourced moss.

Most of the fresh and dried materials will be locally sourced, including flowers and seedheads grown in Mosser, near Cockermouth and dried by myself.

Hot drinks and homemade cakes will be provided.

The workshops are being held in collaboration with The Old Sheep Yard Nursery

THANK YOU ...

for all the kind messages, comments and likes I received after my post on Monday night about retiring.

Just to clarify, I am only retiring from Wedding Styling later this year. I will be concentrating more on my other love - growing flowers at my plot 🌿

Although it is not a business as such (yet?!) I
have pages for that too - on Instagram and Wilde Flowers Cumbria on FB. Please follow if you'd like to see what I'm doing there 🌿

At the plot I have use of one large and one small polytunnel and a plot that has 30 raised beds and I currently grow a mix of perennials and annuals 🌿

WINDING DOWN!

I am retiring! I will finish at the end of the 2024 wedding season.

A big Thank You to all the couples, venues and suppliers I have worked with over the past 9 years.

I am not taking on any more bookings this year.

My website has been updated with this news and will, eventually, be closed, as will social media pages. However my last wedding is not until October so I'll be around for a bit longer!

In March I will be moving into a smaller unit but I'll still be at The Blencathra Business Centre, near Keswick.

Some props will be sold but I haven't yet worked out how I will be doing that so please don't contact me about this. Once I've decided, I'll post on here and Facebook.

🩷 PRETTY IN PINK 🩷

Congratulations to Annerly & Danaika who were married at last Saturday.

Vintage stoneware bottles held flowers in shades of pink, with touches of burgundy to tie in with the candle colours. I added Ammi, Limonium and Apple Mint from , my own cutting garden.

Brian, the red deer stag skull, got in touch with his feminine side and was the main feature on the sweetheart table.

The beautiful cake, made by
was displayed in a wooden plinth, with a rattan screen as a backdrop.

Such a lovely day 💕

SHOOT ...

back in March a selection of local wedding suppliers met at a new wedding venue, the quirky Allan Bank, for a photoshoot.

As well as providing props, I also arranged the florals for the shoot. Everything was gathered from the grounds at Allan Bank. There was not a lot available but it was great to get creative with evergreen foliage and a few Hellebores.

SPRING ...

sunshine for Saturday's wedding

Lanterns, cylinder vases, vintage decanters filled with Spring flowers and bowls of lush ferns added a beautiful touch to the aisle and ceremony area.

How lovely to have an outdoor ceremony this early in April 🌞

DEBUT ... The new hexagonal arch made its debut @lodorefallsweddings today. Shown here with sage green gauze drapes and decorated with Eucalyptus, Eryngium, Gypsophila and Roses.
