Next Wednesday from 10am to 2pm, we’re hosting another Play-in-a-Day workshop packed with drama, craft, and storytelling activities inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. 🎨✨

In just one week, Stories of Lynn will kick off the Dragon Arts Saturday Art Club, a fortnightly drop-off session for young artists 🧑‍🎨 For just £20 for the entire term (running every other Saturday until 5 April, your kids can unleash their creativity 🎨 It starts at 11am so make sure they’re dressed and ready for messy fun 🖼️

Happy Winter Solstice ❄️✨

Did you know that our modern Christmas celebrations are deeply rooted in the ancient Pagan festival of the Winter Solstice? This magical time marked the rebirth of the sun as days began to grow longer, symbolising hope and renewal. 🌞

In the earlier Middle Ages, Christmas wasn’t the grand affair it is today! Instead, Epiphany, celebrated on January 6th, took centre stage. This special day commemorated the visit of the three wise men—or Magi—to the baby Jesus, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 👑

Originally, Christmas was a solemn occasion—a time for quiet prayer and reflection during a special mass. But by the High Middle Ages (1000-1300), it had blossomed into the most prominent religious celebration in Europe! This period marked the beginning of Christmastide, or the Twelve Days of Christmas as we know them today 🎶

Imagine our medieval halls and theatre filled with candlelight, the scent of evergreens, and communities coming together in joy and gratitude. It’s incredible to see how traditions evolve, weaving together threads from different cultures and eras. 🏰
