We have loved our first morning, the ponies settled straight away and are loving there new home.

🐴 Home Education with Ponies! 🐴

Your child will learn valuable life skills in our unique classes, such as Building Trust with Horses and Communication and Body Language.

With a focus on building confidence, problem-solving, and teamwork, each class is designed to help your child grow emotionally, mentally, and socially – all while having fun outdoors!

Here at Shetland Pony and Friends Animal Therapy, we have seen first-hand that spending time with horses can offer incredible benefits for children on the autism spectrum.

Spending time with horses has been proven to help children with autism develop physical, emotional, and social skills. Here's how:

💙 Improved Communication: Horses are sensitive and non-judgmental animals, which helps children practice non-verbal communication. This can encourage more effective interaction and emotional connection.
💙 Enhanced Sensory Experience: The rhythmic movement of riding stimulates the senses, promoting balance, motor coordination, and sensory integration.
💙 Emotional Regulation: Time spent with horses can be calming, reducing anxiety and promoting self-regulation, which can be especially beneficial for children who struggle with sensory overload.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the pony picnic today, we started indoors and when the rain stopped, we made the most of the sunshine in the fabulous gardens.

Everyone’s support means the absolute world to me and I can’t wait to do it all again 🫶

Thank you to Sarah Crombie and The Ferry Inn At Brough for having us, the picnic boxes were amazing and it was just the perfect venue.

A lovely one-to-one / family session this afternoon with a young girl with autism to support with those pre school anxieties after 6 weeks off.

She absolutely loves animals and Arnie had a fabulous time being groomed and pampered 🫶🐴❤️
