Meet Groot … Groot will be joining us at the event with his flyball team Phoenix Flyball, Groot has been involved in flyball since being a puppy and loves outdoor activities, keeping himself in tiptop condition along with his owner Michelle Craddock … Groot is Michelle’s 2nd flyball bulldog Odin took up the mantle first !
You will be able to try out flyball at our event and every dog that has a go will receive a treat & certificate and who knows maybe take flyball up themselves ..

Bulldogs can they Flyball ? Yes they can !! I would like to tell you a little bit about Lucky & Groot … Emma tells us a little bit about Lucky’s career below ⬇️ Sadly earlier this year Lucky crossed over rainbow bridge he was one special bulldog

Meet Lucky - Written by Emma Smith his owner and best friend
I first encountered flyball at crufts in 2016 .
Iknew straight away Lucky would live this as it entailed a ball and running which he both loved to do .
I found a club locally in Brighton, the captain at the time was very sceptical as
he said never ever see a bulldog run .
Needless to say when lucky went for his 1st session the captain changed his opinion .
This was the start of a very fun adventure
Lucky became part of team called Brighton ballsorts in 2017 .
He was the first ever British bulldog to take part in open flyball competitions.

He always drew a crowd as people had never seen such an active bulldog.
His team was also very unusual for a flyball team, which consisted of a labcross, a staffie, Jack Russell and a pom-poo
He did numerous competitions and the
team at a whole regularly came 2nd or 3rd in their division.
We went to the Ukfl championships in 2019 and we surprised ourselves and I think everyone else but we only went and won our division .
Lucky loved to flyball , he even used to
bark and you could hear saying Emma E m m a l.
Lucky started his flyball career in 2017 and he retired in 2020.
