Here’s to two… me and you.

Today is my own wedding anniversary.

It’s been two years since we made our debut as Mr and Mrs Reid! Smiling from ear to ear, taking our step into forever, making wonderful memories with our family and friends.

I would LOVE to do it all over again!

This time two years ago we had just finished a gorgeous dinner, about to enjoy our first dance to this song. Tonight, we have just finished a gorgeous sausage mash and beans that Jack made for us… the smoke alarm just let me know it was ready… Now Jack’s watching the match on one sofa and I’m writing a poem on the other. Who says date nights need to be fancy? 😅

But I love it.

And don’t be fooled, every minute of married life isn’t sunshine and roses, and smiling from ear to ear. But we’re a partnership. We’re best friends and team mates. And it’s still the best decision I’ve ever made (joint top stop with a placement year in Disney of course… and becoming a celebrant!)✨♾️

Well well well, what a day! .parker96 and are two of the NICEST people I have ever met! I’m still obsessed with how they are complete best friends and totally in love! They asked me for a wedding ceremony that had humour, hand fasting and minimal cringe - so that’s what they got!⚡️The last picture shows how happy you SHOULD be during your wedding ceremony! 🥰

You: What IS a Humanist Ceremony?
Me: WELL…

For me and my fellow humanist celebrants, two people get married because they love each other, adore each other, respect each other and want to spend the rest of their lives united together. Therefore, we believe, that your wedding ceremony should reflect just that! 🫶

A humanist ceremony puts you and your partner at the centre. It brings to life a totally unique and completely bespoke script, that journeys through your relationship to date. It’s beautifully personalised and it’s totally centred around your life together 🫂

You have the choice to include some gorgeous special elements (I’ll go into these in more detail in another post soon but some examples are a hand-fasting ceremony, a unity candle ceremony, a ring-warming ceremony and a champagne toast) or some poems/readings that reflect your love. You also have the choice to include key family members or close friends by involving them in your special elements, having them read a wonderful poem or having them play a meaningful piece of music 🎻

The whole point is that this is YOUR wedding day. This is YOUR wedding ceremony. This is YOUR journey into forever. Why not kickstart your future with the most wonderfully creative and beautifully personalised ceremony that reflects you, your partner and your history until your big day 🔮

🎶 It’s me, hi, I’m your celebrant, it’s me 🎶

Wow, what a week it’s been! Thank you for every single like, comment, message, email, enquiry and booking (that’s right y’all, I’m officially a celebrant with clients!🥳) - they truly mean the whole wide world to me and more! 🩷🧡

I thought I would introduce myself incase you don’t already know me through ⚡️

So… here’s five facts about yours truly:

1️⃣ I’m a wife and dog-mum 🙋🏻‍♀️ I got married in August 2022 to Jack and we have a two year old cocker spaniel called Lucy 🐾 I’m obsessed with my wee family!

2️⃣ I’m also a Wedding Planner in Northern Ireland, so not only can I help you have a perfect ceremony, I can help you have a perfect plan too 🥳

3️⃣ I have a degree in Event Management and spent my placement year working in the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World Orlando - yep, that’s right, and it was amazing! 🏰

4️⃣ I’m a big country music fan 🤠 Not Irish country music, I’m more a young American country music fan - Kelsea Ballerini, Russell Dickerson, Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, Luke Combs… that’s what I’m likely blasting in the car. That or a sassy woman like Taylor Swift! 🎵

5️⃣ Being near water soothes my soul. So does nature 🌊🌿 I love spending time at the beach or the dam or a forest, it’s my happy place (with a coffee, cuppa tea or an ice-cream) 🥰

And bonus fact, just because I always like to give you as much as I can… I’ve been a creative writer for many years. I grew up writing poetry and *trying* to write songs. For the last few years I’ve been writing personalised poetry for weddings to be used as ceremony readings, speeches or morning letters. I also help people write their own speeches/vows should they wish too! 📝💭

The day has arrived. Everyone, I’d like to introduce you to…

For years, I’ve been striving to give couples getting married in Northern Ireland “a perfect plan” ✨ Now, I’ll be striving to give them “a perfect ceremony” too ✨

I’ve been a writer for most of my life, but as an Independent Humanist Celebrant, I can conduct legal weddings and elopements anywhere in Northern Ireland. That’s right, anywhere, any day, anytime 📍This means, if your dream is to get married in a stunning venue you’ve stalked online for years, I can make that happen. If your dream is to get married on your local beach at sunset, I can make that happen. If your dream is to get married in your back garden at 2 o’clock in the morning, I can make that happen too. How exciting is that?! 🤩

And even better… your ceremony can be as unique, creative and personal as you like! That’s right, it’s all about YOU! Well you and your fiancée. We work together to create a ceremony that’s all about your relationship, your journey and your love story 🩷 You tell me your key milestones, memories and moments, family life, inside jokes, favourite experiences, whatever means most to you… Then I write a FULL SCRIPT bespoke to your life as a couple. How exciting is that?! ✍️

I’m so excited to get started and I’m so grateful for everyone who’s liked, shared, commented, messaged and enquired so far - it means more to me than you’ll ever know 💛 And please know, to me, being a humanist means appreciating people, all people. Regardless of your religion, your sexuality and so much more, I’d be honoured to be your wedding celebrant 🫶 And note, I will be conducting vow renewals and baby naming ceremonies too 🥰
