The final guest DJ for Elemental presents MAD MAXX, MAD TRIBE and SOUL SCIENTIST is the one and only Mikki Tiamo, who after two decades immersed in our community recently soared to DJ sensation after captivating our audience during our last open deck room and then went on to play for many private events and more recently the incredible Celtic Jamboree.

Mikki brings a unique blend of high energy, passion and expertise to her sets, and has teamed up with her mentor and partner, DJ Lilly Jae, under which Mikki swiftly mastered the decks.

Mikki's journey is more than just musical prowess; it's a testament to resilience and community support. As a proud advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, Mikki embraces her transgender identity, overcoming challenges with grace and determination. Introducing DJ Lilly Jae who will be making her debut in our techno room at Eiger Studios this Friday!

DJ Lilly Jae: A Musical Journey through mental health, love and friendship.

Hailing from Surrey and now calling Leeds home for the past 14 years, DJ Lilly Jae embarked on her musical odyssey at the tender age of 17, honing her skills as a bedroom DJ amongst her friendship group.

Witnessing the meteoric rise of DJ Amber D in the early 2000s sparked a fire within her, driving her to pursue DJing on a more serious level.

Teaming up with her best friend Fleur, they formed the UV Girls, gracing the underground Hard House scene of Brixton, South London, and lighting up various clubs along the South Coast throughout the early to late 2000s. Under the alias Rachel UV, Lilly also held regular residencies in commercial DJ venues, curating nights of 80s, 90s, and club classics and playing Drum and Bass events in Brighton.

Her passion for music extended beyond the DJ booth as she embarked on a journey teaching primary and secondary school kids how to DJ as part of the art award scheme.

In 2010, Lilly made the move to Leeds, where she embraced her new role as a mother to Cassius and Sonny.

However, the challenges of lockdown brought on feelings of depression, which she combated through the power of music and DJing, turning to online streaming via platforms like Twitch and TikTok. Growing a following of just over 5k collectively over both platforms.

Her talent caught the attention of the gaming world, leading her to DJ for FFXIV in various clubs and earning recognition as the Editor's choice rising star in-game DJ in the official FFXIV magazine. She is also part of Rave Stylez Crew & Goldenforce official twitch teams and helps with MetaHertz Radio a new Drum and Bass channel on Twitch and various other streaming platforms.

Recently diagnosed with AuDHD, Lilly courageously shared her journey through music and social media, aiming to destigmatize mental health issues in women and the music industry.

After 16 years apart, Lilly aka Rachel UV reunited with Fleur UV in October 23 and the UV Girls have reignited their presence in the DJ scene with electrifying sets of trance and hard house. Together they are about to embark on a debut at Cyber Dog on May 25th, Camdens iconic rave shop and have alot more in the pipeline.

With an eclectic taste in music, Lilly's sets know no boundaries, earning her the title of multi-genre DJ also playing both vinyl and digital.

Her path converged with Elemental in November 2023, an event she now holds in such high regard and where she finally met her partner for life, Mikki Tiamo.

Lilly's mentorship guided Mikki's journey into the world of DJing and she has since began djing at clubs and festivals. All within an impressive six months.

As Lilly Jae prepares to debut in the techno room for Elemental on May 17th, Lilly expresses her gratitude for Elemental, which she considers her spiritual home, an awakening with every visit. It's an exciting time for Lilly as she continues to inspire and uplift through her music and her unwavering commitment to the DJing community.

Introducing our second headliner for Friday, Soul Scientist

Soul Scientist blends the raw energy of live electric guitar with the intense power of full-on psytrance.

Earth-rumbling beats, heavy guitar riffs and eastern inspired melodies are the hallmark of her music. Remixing and rearranging tracks from acclaimed artists such as Electric Universe, Avalon, Mad Maxx and Burn In Noise, as well as producing her own, each track bears her unique musical signature, achieved through the incorporation of live guitar performance, sound effects, samples, and instrumental layers.

Her rapid rise in the UK's psytrance scene has seen her sharing stages with many of the renowned producers of the music she remixes.

The stage name Soul Scientist is an embodiment her belief in music's capacity to alter brain chemistry so deeply as to unlock transcendental experiences.

Introducing our first headliner for this weekend, MAD TRIBE, a collaboration between the late Space Tribe (Olli Wisdom) and MAD MAXX (Max Peterson).

They started making music together in 2005, instantly clicking with a shared vision for a full-power psychedelic sound infused with a twisted sense of humour.

MAD TRIBE received a fantastic response to their debut album "SPACED OUT" on TIP Records, delivering a juicy psychedelic experience guaranteed to spark all six senses.

MAD TRIBE has unleashed numerous inter dimensional transmissions on their innovative, cutting-edge vinyl picture discs, including the hit releases "Fake Guru" and "Vinyl Fe**sh", which materialised on our terrestrial plane released on United Beats Records as a double A-side black light active splatter vinyl and digital download.

Today is our 5th birthday, after our first party back on the 30th March 2019 with DJ Lucas / SuperModule at the The Old Red Bus Station in Leeds

We had to overcome our first small hurdle that night, which was only spotted a few days before the event - the clocks would change part way through the night and we would lose an hour due to licensing regulations, as a result our already packed line up between 10pm-4am would actually only have 5 hours, not 6... luckily The Old Red Bus Station came through for us and allowed us to start an hour early, finishing their cafe next door an hour early for us.

In the end, all went smoothly on the night and the event got off to a cracking start. The venue turned out to be great and was a really welcoming space for everyone, DJ Lucas / SuperModule played an amazing set, both rooms were packed, and one of the star pieces of the show was Mr Chukkels amazing Element5 sound system in our second room.

Fast forward five years and we’ve since gone on to welcome world class psychedelic trance producers such as Logic Bomb, Sabretooth / Ben Fraser, Juno Reactor, 1200 Micrograms, G.M.S, Cosmosis, Nikki S and the SUN PROJECT, across venues such as the The Old Red Bus Station, Sheaf St, Eiger Studios and Leeds West Indian Centre, selling out our recent events and are looking forward to hosting MAD MAXX, MAD TRIBE, Soul Scientist in spring and Burn in Noise and Stack Rack in the summer.

We have a *huge* announcement to make in the next few days regarding our autumn event at Leeds West Indian Centre, stay tuned for the full release.

Introducing the psytrance stage headline duo, SUN PROJECT, coming all the way from Germany for a live instrumental set.

Matthias and Marco, the core members of S.U.N. Project, are set to bring their unique blend of psychedelic/goa trance and live guitar to our stage. These two aren't just any musicians; they're pioneers who've carved a niche in the psytrance world with their distinct style.

Originally immersed in the rock and heavy metal scene, Matt and Marco were initially skeptical about the burgeoning trance movement of the early '90s. However, the hypnotic, repetitive grooves and sci-fi sound effects of trance soon captivated them, leading to an exhilarating fusion of genres. This fusion is the essence of S.U.N. Project, where the energy of rock music meets the psychedelic rhythms of trance.

Their journey into electronic music production opened up new creative avenues, yet they remained true to their rock band ethos. S.U.N. Introducing our second techno stage headliner, D.A.V.E. The Drummer

Straight from the raw and untamed London warehouse rave D.A.V.E. The Drummer, a.k.a. Henry Cullen, has been a relentless force in the techno world

In the late 90s, Henry embarked on a mission with his brainchild, Hydraulix Records. This wasn't just any label – it was a revolution, a bridge between the gritty acid techno of the time and a new, darker, more intense form of techno that Henry was pioneering. Hydraulix quickly became synonymous with the cutting edge of Hard Techno, making ripples across the globe and dominating the Beatport Hard Techno Charts.

D.A.V.E The Drummers tunes have been the secret weapon for top DJs globally, while still keeping the underground techno heads nodding. His recent stuff? The legendary psytrance deck wizard ED TANGENT will be taking the controls for a return to the Leeds West Indian Centre where he ran Sunrise for many years, which is one of the longest running psychedelic trance events in the country with its roots back in the 90s at Manchesters Music Box, and to this day is still hosting dance tents at festivals such as Beat Herder and Equinox.

Ed has a long running DJ career with appearances ranging from Return to the Source, Boomtown Fair, The Glade, Kulu, Cabbage, Planet Zogg, Kundalini and Megadog Beach Festival, representing labels over the years such as Phantasm Records, Psy-Core Records and Mutagen Records. For the millenium, Ed was invited to play the New Years Eve party at the Goa Hill Top

Introducing our first techno stage headliner, Chris Liberator from Stay Up Forever Collective, returning to Leeds West Indian Centre having previously played there for the legendary Riff Raff 🔥🔥

Flashback to 1991: Chris kicked off his DJ career at a North London squat party, organised with the early Liberator crew featuring Julian and Aaron. The Liberators quickly became a sensation, throwing epic parties in squats and underground venues across North East London. Their firebrand mix of acid, hard techno, and rave soon had them joining forces with Bedlam, Full On, Zero Gravity, and Megadog. 💥

The illegal rave scene in the UK was booming, and Chris was right there in the mix! He and the crew expanded their horizons, connecting with European crews in Prague and Holland, and soon they were globetrotting, bringing their unique sound worldwide. ✈️🌍

In '93, they launched Stay Up Forever, a label that became the heartbeat of London Techno and Acid Techno. 🎵

Chris, with Aaron Liberator, went on to form the Stay Up Forever Collective. He’s spun decks from Brazil to Japan, making a name for himself as a master of London Techno. Even as he soared to international fame, appearing in DJ mag’s top 100 DJs list multiple times, he stayed true to his roots, lighting up squat parties and underground raves across London and Europe. 🔊

From "ONE NIGHT IN HACKNEY" to "LONDON ACID CITY", Chris has been the force behind countless techno anthems, working alongside big names such as D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Sterling Moss and Rachel Rackitt. His punk roots from the early '80s anarcho-punk scene fuel his DIY ethos and anti-system stance, evident in his continued involvement in punk bands like Dogsh*te and Hagar The Womb. 🤘🎸

A vinyl purist at heart, Chris's dedication to his art and philosophy is as fierce now as it was 28 years ago!
