Joining our Saturday The Village Pump line up we are delighted to welcome pillow fort . Pillow Fort are an emo-revival-revival band from Nottingham/Leicester and have released 2 EPs, both on Hunk Of Plastic Records. In the best emo tradition they have a neat line in song-titles – “Nelson Muntz Had An Absent Father Too” anyone? – and pull from the Algernon Cadwallader/Camping In Alaska school of downbeat lyrics over twinkly guitars.

There was a distinct anger to the whole sound, but it was all very tightly assembled, chaotic, fun and loud.

Sunday’s shaping up well, so in the build up to our big day at Firebug and Duffy's Bar, here’s some more info about the artists 👀

✨ CHERYM ✨ (CHERYM) are a 3 piece pop rock band from Derry! Having brought out their debut album on Alcopop earlier this year (one of my favs of this year), they’ve been taking the scene by absolute storm, most recently hitting the main stage at 2000 trees.

🦁 Scumbag Lion 🦁 (Scumbag Lion) are a 4 piece math-rock band from Leicester. Featuring punchy riffs and impactful choruses, their incredibly tight performances always impress.

☀️ Sunny Side Down ☀️ are an indie-pop 4 piece from London. They released an EP earlier this month that shows off exactly what they do best: bright indie guitars, relatable lyrics, and the feeling that they’re one of the most down-to-earth songwriters around.

Advance tickets on sale til midnight on Saturday. 20 sick artists, 1 big day - I wouldn’t suggest missing it 👀

You wanna know a lil more about some of the artists playing on Sunday? Look no further 👀

🌿 Algae Bloom 🌿 (algae bloom) are a 3 piece screamo band from Norwich, throwing skramz and emo into one room to fight it out. They sum it up well in their Spotify bio: “all screaming all the time, no drum stools not ever”.

🐁 Mouse Teeth 🐁 (Mouse Teeth Music) is the solo project of Leicester’s Nancy Dawkins, writing melancholy but sonically sweet music spanning a whole plethora of themes including grief, illness and abuses of power. Always a treat to see live, the performances blend spoken word and poetry with song.

🐴 Cheap Dirty Horse 🐴 (Cheap Dirty Horse) is a big rowdy 6-piece q***r folk-punk dad-kissing band from Nottingham. Rocking a banjo, their very up-front politically driven songs are incredibly charming singalongs and not to be missed!
