Hello 👋
I've had a flurry of new followers recently (thank you!) So I thought I'd introduce myself.
Personally hate photos, but this one I don't mind too much because the hound looks cute.
I'm Ruth, the maker of Roots & Wild.
I live in South East Cornwall with my wife Liz, Nigel our lurcher, Highland pony Morag, Dartmoor pony Matilda and last but not least, Sharon and Beyonce our chickens.
I LOVE the outdoors. Whether that's on horse back or on my own two feet. We are regularly stomping around the coast path or forestry, looking for new inspiration. Exploring is something Liz and I both love!
I've been in the horse industry since my late teens. But after some health issues, I decided to give it up and finally start the floristry business I always wanted to try in January 2024.
Im totally self taught. I used my small amount of savings to make my first order of dried flowers and have just grown from there.
I am lucky enough to come from a very artistic family who harnessed my love for anything creative in my younger years. I then went on to study art and photography before starting my equine studies. Then the horsey bug took over and it took a back burner.
I'm loving being back in the creative industry. Mentally and physically my body is coping much better with day to day life now.
So there we are. A little glimpse into me and my little business...
