We are getting to that time of year where people are talking about Christmas, making plans and getting excited to meet up with friends and family. It might also be a time for you where you are thinking about those who won't be there this year. Those who are missing from the dinner table, the one who brought the magic of Christmas to your home.

Our memorial service is all about remembering those we love but see no more. We will recall all those special times, the memories made, and give thanks for the love we shared.

You are all welcome to join us as we say their names aloud, light a candle and give thanks for the lives they lived. We would love to see you and your families on what will be a really special evening.

Save the date!

Our Light up a Life service will take place on Sunday 8th December at 4pm, here at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Thornton.

Light up a Life is a very special event and a lovely way to remember your loved ones over the festive period.

Come and join us in our beautiful woodland garden to light a candle, sing carols and take part in a short but meaningful service.

We will also switch on the lights on our Light up Life Christmas tree, where each light is dedicated to someone special.

Hot drinks and refreshments will be available and make sure you dress for the weather as this is an outdoor event.

Baby Loss Awareness Week is held annually between 9th-15th October, and gives the opportunity for communities to come together and grieve while sharing their experiences and knowing they are not alone.

For this year's Remembrance Service, held by The Honeysuckle Team at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, we offered our support by providing pocket-size cards with two beautiful poems for parents to carry with them and remember their little ones.

The service at St George’s Hall was very touching. We each lit a candle and watched as people shared stories and poems to remember their loved ones, and finished the service with a performance from The Soul City Voices Choir.

The Honeysuckle Team are available year-round to support parents and families who have experienced a loss at any point during pregnancy and soon after birth, focusing on bringing communities together to share a safe space with others who have been through the same experience.

Barringtons FS would like to say a huge thank you to Jenny and Andy O'Grady. This amazing couple have recently donated a full cuddle cot system to us in memory of George their son. This gift allows George's memory to live on and provides a wonderful resource, enabling more families to spend precious time with their little ones when they are in our care.

All of our team send our love to all of the families affected by the terrible incidents in Southport this week especially to the families of the children who sadly died and were injured. Also to the bravery of the adults who tried to help and protect the children. We’d also like to say thank you to the emergency responders for their service.
David and Claire our owners lived in Southport for 13 years and both their children were born there. Southport is a close, warm, friendly community and our hearts go out to them. ###x

Alder Hey Dragon Boat Festival 2024 🛶 🐉 - what can we say!
Great team, wonderful weather and fabulous races - we improved times on last year and have so far raised £1828 for this very special hospital. More money is still coming in and it’s still possible on Just Giving to donate.

⭐️🌿 We here at Barringtons are loving these stunning forget-me-nots and so it seems are you in the community - they are flying out for just £10each / donation to Woodlands Hospice, for their beautiful campaign. Get in touch if you’d like one, they are 36cm high and look amazing in pots or garden beds ! Or even a few as a sculpture in the house.. stainless steel and all hand made.

We're thrilled to announce Barrington's Funeral Services Ltd is the first Independent funeral director to order the all-electric Etive Hearse and Limousine. David Barrington said "As we enjoyed running the Ford Hybrid fleet so much, the Etive was the next logical step when we came to upgrade our fleet. We love the smooth, silent ride the Etive offers, and its green credentials are icing on the cake"

This Saturday, David and Claire are performing as part of St John's Community Christmas Concert, Rice Lane, Walton in aid of Hope's Therapy Dogs. There's no admission fee but a donation to the charity is welcomed. This is the fourth time we've done this. All are welcome to come along.
Massive thank you to our organist colleague Michael Bennett for keeping us all on track.

Lovely picture from Sefton Parish Church at their Christingle Service. Barringtons provide the oranges for Christingle to churches within Waterloo and Crosby, Formby and Netherton. It's a lovely service to go to.
