Next up in our series, we flash back to a 7 night incentive we delivered in Costa Rica five years ago.

The incentive was themed around Costa Rica’s famed expression ‘Pura Vida’, which means pure life, or life is great. And our client’s incentive winners certainly enjoyed a memorable trip, staying at Playa Conchal, considered to be one of the most exotic beaches on the Costa Rican Gold Coast.

In addition to exploring Costa Rica’s stunning landscapes and biodiversity, the group took part in a CSR teambuilding activity – building bikes and presenting them to local school children – an unforgettable and rewarding experience for all.

Costa Rica is a fantastic choice for clients looking for a sustainable incentive destination as it boasts some of the most impressive sustainability credentials in the world.

We’ve been lucky enough to deliver incentive programmes in many amazing bucket list destinations around the world over the last , including beautiful Bali.

In 2017, we created an inspiring incentive in the idyllic Indonesian island for one of our global clients. The group of 60 top performers and their partners enjoyed a six-night programme including a catamaran cruise, sightseeing and an awards ceremony.

One of the top highlights was travelling to a traditional Balinese village in old military vehicles complete with police es**rt, for a teambuilding and CSR activity. Our incentive winners took part in activities including cooking, dancing and creating traditional arts and crafts, giving back to the local community.

We LOVE this team photo from the trip, which is most definitely one of our favourite incentive memories from the past two decades! It takes an amazing team - most of whom are often behind the scenes - to deliver a seamless incentive event.

It was a case of fifth time lucky for a recent residential conference in Venice for one of our long-standing clients, a global luxury fashion brand.

The event, originally booked for Spring 2020 had to be moved multiple times due to the pandemic. But it was worth the wait and the stunning surrounds of the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, set on its own private island, provided the perfect setting for the audience of 250 senior managers from across Europe to reconnect.

Culminating in a gala dinner amid the hotel’s olive groves, complete with festoon lighting and with the client’s iconic logo projected onto the glowing water tower, it was one of those ‘wow’ moments that make us love doing what we do.

Now that Christmas is almost upon us, we are reminiscing about some of the fabulous festive events we have organised for our clients over the past

One of our favourites is the gala dinner we organised at London’s Guildhall. This striking Grade I-listed landmark provides a stunning setting for banquets, and regularly plays host to royal, national and international occasions, including HM Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebrations.

Throughout the evening, guests were taken on a journey of nearly 2,000 years through the venue’s awe-inspiring architecture, from a drink’s reception in the Victorian neo-gothic grandeur of the Old Library, to dinner in the impressive medieval Great Hall with its soaring high-arched ceiling, followed by after dinner entertainment and dancing in the largest surviving medieval Crypts in London.

Earlier this year, we rewarded 55 top performers at a leading HR & recruitment firm with an unforgettable Italian incentive in picturesque Puglia.

As this was the client’s first overseas incentive trip post pandemic, we knew it had to be somewhere special and were confident that the beautiful Borgo Egnazia hit the brief perfectly, so much so that it was the only property we put forward and were thrilled that our client trusted in our venue expertise and agreed!

Highlights of the three-day programme included a private street lunch in the beautiful backdrop of Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an exclusive vineyard experience, and a ‘Pizza and Prosecco VIP villa party’ in one of the resort’s luxurious villas – something that had never been done before at Borgo Egnazia.

Guests were served pizza directly from the pizza oven in a private lemon tree orchard and partied in the impressive four-floor villa, which hosts soirees for famous guests such as Madonna.

It was the client’s first incentive for Northern Europe, and due to its success has now been promoted to an annual trip. We can’t wait to deliver next year’s event!

As far as iconic London venues go, the Natural History Museum is up there among our favourites.

We were thrilled to hire the museum exclusively for a gala dinner for one of our global technology clients.

Working in public museums always adds an extra level of excitement, as the set up and turnaround time is tight as the process cannot begin until the museum doors close to the public, usually at 6pm!

But with the help of our fantastic partners, we delivered a memorable night at the museum, lighting up the landmark’s grand exterior in our client’s brand colour, and projecting falling leaves on the ceiling of the Hintze Hall, to create a wintry and festive feel for this end of year celebration.

One of our healthcare clients requested a tropical destination that provided ideal weather in June for a relaxing programme for 50 top performers and their partners.

We recommended The Seychelles for the UK-based group and a resort on its own is and provides a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop for the 7-day programme, which saw guests experience a variety of individual and group activities and experiences including hiking, sailing, a gala awards dinner on the beach, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the fabulous five-star facilities.

This was the fantastic client feedback we received from another magical moment in our , delivering an exclusive conference at the 5* luxury JW Marriott Cannes on the stunning French Riviera for a renowned American fashion brand.

Set on the same spot and incorporating the original theatre that was home to the first ever Cannes Film Festival, the hotel not only has a historic location, but a stunning one too – right on the Boulevard de la Croisette.

The iconic property created a sense of exclusivity that befitted both the brand and audience of 180 senior managers. In addition to a successful conference, we organised two evening events including a relaxed but unforgettable awards night on the hotel’s jetty watching the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea.

First up in our series, we flash back to one of our favourite events in our hometown of London. In October 2016, we worked with one of our luxury clients to transform To***co Dock into the iconic streets of New York, where the high-end fashion and retail brand was founded.

We recreated the famed NYC High Line inside the venue, complete with the New York skyline, turfing covering the floors and plants to mirror those in the gardens that line the walk. The unique immersive experience transported guests away from London’s Docklands to the heart of the Big Apple.

In keeping with the New York theme, we delivered a gala dinner in the style of a glamorous American Prom, with 489 glass balloons suspended from the ceiling and gold foil tinsel walls!! The atmosphere was electric throughout the entire event, especially the evening, and feedback from both our client and the attendees was incredible!

Huge thanks to our wonderful clients, partners and colleagues who joined us to celebrate Eventful’s 20th anniversary at the fabulous Belmond Cadogan Hotel in London last night.

Back in 2002, our founder Caroline Lumgair Wiseman launched the agency with the encouragement of a couple of corporate clients who had faith in her vision to create a highly personalised, consultative venue sourcing and corporate event planning service, focused on building long-term relationships with both clients and suppliers.

Two decades later, we have stayed true to our core values and feel privileged to have built a portfolio of loyal clients, several of whom have been with us on this journey from the beginning.

It has been a truly eventful journey, which has seen our team book and plan over 4,000 events for leading global brands ranging from meetings and conferences to gala dinners and incentives at locations across the UK, and around the world.

We’re incredibly grateful to those first clients, and every single client who has put their faith and trust in us along the way, as well as all the venues, DMCs and hotel partners who have worked with us to create memorable event experiences. We cannot thank you enough for your support.

There’s nothing quite like experiencing a destination first hand to get a taste of what it can offer incentive groups. And last week, thanks to Four Seasons, our Head of Incentives Holly Mills jetted off on an unforgettable adventure in Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta.

From releasing baby turtles in to the wild to gliding over ancient temples by hot air balloon, the trip ticked many ‘once in a lifetime’ boxes for Holly, and she’s come back armed with inspiration and ideas to share with our clients.

The Four Seasons EMEA Incentive Roundtable trip also provided the opportunity to learn more about all the incredible organisations the Four Seasons Hotel group supports, while the roundtable session offered real insight into industry challenges from multiple perspectives as well as some innovative suggestions for better practice.

We’ve just completed a final site inspection and planning meeting at the stunning JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa ahead of an exclusive-use event for one of our long-standing clients, a global luxury fashion brand next month.

Originally booked for Spring 2020, the event – a residential conference for 250 attendees from across Europe – has been moved multiple times due to the impact of the pandemic. It’s been a long time coming and we are all so excited to finally deliver it in October!

We’re absolutely buzzing today after delivering a highly successful conference and dinner yesterday for a European private equity firm at the Nobu London Portman Square.

We worked closely with our client to source the perfect venue to host an audience of 60 discerning CFOs. We then supported them throughout the entire planning process and provided full event management onsite.

Eventful took the lead in transforming the ballroom from a high-end conference during the day to a sophisticated banquet during the evening. The service and food at the hotel were impeccable with sleek AV support provided by Encore, resulting in an event that met all our client’s defined objectives.

Having attended the first ever Fairmont Canadian Showcase in 2008, our Operations Director, Claire Gardner was excited to attend the Accor Global Meetings Exchange at the Fairmont San Francisco last month.

The theme of the conference was ‘Meaningful Connections’, which was expertly weaved throughout the content and social programme.

The topics discussed showed us just how global the challenges that we are facing in the MICE industry are, including everything from CSR, sustainability and wellbeing to lack of availability and an increase in costs in conjunction with a decrease in the labour pool.

Attending industry events such as the GME is invaluable, both for the opportunity to visit destinations and hotels, as well as knowledge sharing and networking. Thank you to all suppliers involved in creating such a memorable event.

Yesterday (28 July) marked Earth Overshoot Day – when humanity has used all the biological resources that Earth regenerates during the entire year. The fact it fell one day earlier than last year, and coming off the back of the recent heatwave, is a wakeup call for us all to do better.

We’re passionate about creating purpose-led experiences that inspire audiences and make them feel good about the company they work for, while leaving a positive impact on the destinations we visit.

So, we were delighted to support one of our clients with an evening activity in Amsterdam recently that combined CSR with teambuilding. We worked with the brilliant Platic Whale to send out teams in boats (made from recycled plastic fished out of the canals of Amsterdam) to collect as much waste as possible in two hours, with prizes for the largest amount collected and most unique item fished out!

Our client was thrilled with the outcome: “It was a perfect way to allow networking in an informal and fun way that also had an element of CSR, so people felt like they had all contributed to cleaning up the canals of Amsterdam.”

It’s a great example of how business events can be used as a force for good and contribute towards a more sustainable future for our planet.

Despite the devastating impact of the pandemic on the industry, our sister agency Cheerful Twentyfirst, and our own Eventful team, have worked tirelessly over the past two years to source and design creative solutions for our clients and we’re proud to have been able to maintain our excellent service standards.

The record financial performance comes hot on the heels of a flurry of award wins and nominations for both agencies who respectively have been in business for 35 and 20 years.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Eventful team! We have really enjoyed being out and about attending a number of industry events, learning, networking and sharing with our colleagues and peers.

Our founder and MD Caroline Lumgair Wiseman took part in a live interview with M&IT’s Paul Harvey and a micebook panel session on events being used as a force for good at The Meetings Show, as well as attending the first SITE GB Leaders Retreat last Monday.

Claire Gardener, our operations director, also attended The Meetings Show as a hosted buyer, to make sure we’re up to date with all the latest product news to share with our clients, then celebrated with industry peers at the micebook V Awards.

And congratulations to Holly Mills, our Head of Incentives, who celebrated with her fellow C&IT Incentive A-Listers, at an evening event hosted by the Sandals Team last Thursday.

We had a wonderful team retreat at the recently opened The Retreat at Elcot Park, and as a retreat we can confirm that it really lives up to its name.

This fabulous new property, part of The Signet Collection, an exciting new brand founded by hotelier Hector Ross who also recently restored and relaunched The Mitre at Hampton Court, is set in the stunning English countryside in West Berkshire, easily accessible from the M3 and M4.

We were delighted to experience the finished product first hand, having discovered this property in its early stages of development. We already have 3 events confirmed there throughout 2022 and know that our clients are going to be as impressed as we are.
