Welcome to the wonderful world of Wheels & Wax with the most iconic bands and grooviest DJs in town Wheels & Wax was born in Brighton in 2021. Again at The 229.

The brainchild of Miss Colleen Considine. The first home was The Great Eastern. A wild day of the UK's best DJ's spinning their way through Soul, Reggae, Rockabilly, R&B and so much more. In 2022 Colleen moved the club night into Central London. Adding her good friend, Andy Chesham to the mixture to DJ (Club Ska/ Human Punk). Split into two categories, Road Runner started up with Colleen joining f

orces with Andy and his partner in Human Punk, the author John King to cater for the Rockabilly/Rock 'n' Roll/Psychobilly acts. A new route completely, it was time for live acts. Fluid by name, fluid by nature, Wheels & Wax is a wild night of Psyche, Soul, Garage, R&B, lovely Grooviness & anything else we like the sounds of. The first two gigs were booked in place. Bursting with ideas, Colleen paired up with Andy in August 2023 to take W&W to the next level. To put it simply, you ain't seen nothing yet. With acts being booked in the best events in Central London, both rooms across 229 and The 100 Club, we're here to shake things up. Watch this space..... lots of amazing gigs are coming your way...

Alongside THE CAPELLAS with their crossover between classic soul and dirty garage. Opening up are the must see band of 2024, TELECOM, with their modern taken on Psych/Garage. Just over two weeks until our Christmas Knees-Up at The 229! This is an all killer, no filler line up! We welcome back BIG BOSS MAN after their triumphant full house last year at Wheels & Wax. The most GROOVETASTIC band you can ever see! Onstage just before them we have that wonderful mix of classic soulful vocals with a garagey twist with THE CAPELLAS and opening up are the must see band of 2024, TELECOM. Back again we have J.S. And The Lockerbillies. An exciting band from the Neo Rockabilly scene.

With Human Punk faves London Sewage Company opening up on what is their debut on the main stage at The 229. Led by that loveable man about town, Barnet

What a year 2023 was for Wheels And Wax! At the start of the year WAW was purely club nights. From its inception in Brighton and moving on to its new home in Cental London at The 229. Initially WAW the year started as just Colleen. But with the gigs getting added it needed a team. So in came Andy after Colleen had booked in the first two live events. The power of a partnership makes promoting so much easier and more fun! So the new WAW partnership have started booking in lots of amazing shows for 2023. Booked in already is the Len Price 3/ The Capellas and Young Francis Hi-Fi event in February and our first Ska Special (Andy is Mr Club Ska... it had to be done!) with The Dekkertones and Usual Players playing live. Next up is the first WAW event at the legendary The 100 Club in May. This one is our Psyche special (look out for proper announcement soon!!) with an amazing four band bill of Looking Glass Alice, The Speedways, Green Seagull and The Crystal Teardrop. Loads more gigs are in the pipeline but we can't tell you about them yet! A massive THANK YOU and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you out there who have supported our project. To all the bands, DJs, venue staff, sound guys and the BIGGEST thank you to all of you out there who have supported our nights. 2024 is gonna be a big year for WHEELS AND WAX.
