Our Head Chef.
Luka has a background in events catering and Michelin star restaurants. After spending two years in Mexico, the opportunity presented itself to come back to London and work in film catering. After a few years working on shows such as Ted Lasso, Bridgerton and Will Ferrel’s Eurovision,
Luka joined the team as Proper Brew branched out into catering and expanded our food services. Luka’s passion is travelling and this is clear through her menus as she brings a piece of each place back with her and straight into her cooking through different cuisines and authentic cooking styles. Her menus are always full of flavour as well as nutritious to keep the crew full on those long shoot days. As they say an army marches on its stomach!

ELLIE-

With a similar background to her brother Matt, Ellie trained as a Barista at the age of 16 at Bettys Tea Rooms. Ellie’s training expanded into strict front of house etiquette which paved the way to the service Proper Brew provide today.

Ellie was keen to join Matt in making Proper Brew into a family business. The name Proper Brew was created when Ellie & Matt were driving up to their home town in Harrogate, North Yorkshire to London, after spending the journey brainstorming different ideas to make the business stand out.

Ellie has a sparkling eye for detail & each service provided on set has the ‘Ellie stamp of approval’ before the doors and kitchen are open to the cast and crew.

MEET THE TEAM EP1

MATT-

Matt founded Proper Brew in 2021 on the back of the covid lockdown. With over 15 years of experience in the hospitality/ film industry he felt it was time to bring something bold and new to the Film & TV scene.

Starting his hospitality career in a small local Italian in Harrogate as a KP at the age of 14, he went on to manage Front of House at the prestigious Betty’s Tea Rooms in Harrogate. Matt was then offered to work in film catering in London. He left Harrogate with a backpack, a change of clothes and has never looked back.
