So I’ve kind of been busy lately with one of the most demanding projects yet 😍 … This little one is 5 weeks old today and what a crazy, amazing time it’s been. 🤞🏼 he wants to learn the ways of the Techno Jedi and he can become my Padawan 😎

I’ll be getting back in to the studio in the next couple of weeks and I’m also finalising the next BLACKAXON releases 🧨

Here’s some impressions from my recent HÖR set recorded just over 2 weeks ago 🧨 full on energy from start to finish 💥 I’m really pleased how this set went and it was the first time playing on 4 decks (No pressure 😂) My mindset before I entered the infamous bathroom was “you can mix 3 decks no sweat, you can do 4! Let’s go”. Just as well I smashed it then, right 😎

🚨🚨🚨 It’s been a while since my last DJ mix and given I’ve upgraded my setup in the last 6 months so I thought it’s about time I put it to the test. I’m pleased to share a new DJ Mix for the Paradox Podcast series. The idea behind the mix was to treat it like a club show, no strict track list but an idea of the tunes I want to play (in no particular order). I used 3 decks to keep the energy rolling from start to finish. Here is my interview that goes with the mix 🙏🏼

October 2023, I joined the as a DJ Tutor.

Before sharing on my socials, I wanted to ensure that the messaging of my posts is clear - Making music is still my priority and that I still have that 🔥🔥🔥

I would however like to add as many strings to my bow as possible - I feel in the current climate, this is important 🌎

I think being a tutor, sharing my knowledge and experiences and guiding the students as a mentor has really cemented my love for the DJing process, and how effortlessly I can talk about the subject of DJing and music 😂

The thing I like most about the school is that the classes are in-person in East London in small groups across 3 months. With access to so many apps, YouTube channels and online courses there is so much information and so it’s not always easy to know where to start and more importantly, when things are going wrong, how to fix them.

I feel that students being able to learn in a small group from someone (that’s me of course 😉) with 20 years experience of DJing and producing music, is really beneficial to them.

It’s been an absolute pleasure to teach my students across the last 6 months, watching them grow from little or no understanding of the DJing process, to being able to put together a 1 hour mix, a radio show, and eventually a club show!

Just a little shout out to Zyan and Priscilla (slide 1) and Lawrence & Taylor (slide 2) - just some of the students who I’ve taught so far.

As mentioned on my post from a few weeks ago, the last months have been a point of reflection 🧐

As well as making new music (see my post from last week for a listen!) I have been going through my previous releases and it has reminded me of where I am heading and why I am doing what I am doing.

I want my socials pages to be a true reflection of the artist I am and I want to re-lay the foundation to tell the right story.

Released April 2016, my Klockworks 18 EP was really a proud moment for me 🤩🤯🥰 At the time I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be releasing on Ben Klock’s label! Prior to this being released I had been following Ben’s music since around 2009, when I first heard Sub-Zero and then his ‘One’ album, which (for me) is still one of the best techno albums of all times 💯 I had been working with Ben on crafting this EP and still remember the day he selected the tracks for the EP and the project took flight 🍾 🍾🍾

I am eternally grateful to for giving me 3 releases so far on and the opportunities which followed off of the back of this EP ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

The last few months have been a point of reflection for me and I decided to delay my socials for a bit longer whilst I decided my direction in my music, to ensure it’s the sound I truly believe in. Behind social media, I am always making music, or doing something music related, as I will share in the coming weeks. ⚡️⚡️⚡️I mentioned on my post from last week, that I wanted to start to share some of my productions which have not yet been released and will be in the pipeline for release this year either on BLACKAXON, or another imprint. First up Is my track ‘No Way Back’. A very heavy raw and gnarly roller which was created (mainly) using Ableton’s Bass Synthesiser - a very simple synth but you can get some amazing sounds from this thing 🔥 For me, this is a really important track in terms of my mixing journey and personal development, marking a really marked a positive step forward. For some of my previous tracks/releases I had worked with @user_experience_joefarr as my mixing engineer who had really given my tracks that extra 💥 that has been missing. This is mainly due to me not having a treated studio where I can get a true representation of my track and having to use headphones to mix. While I know I have had a good understanding of the basics of the mixing process, at the time of writing this track I didn’t feel I could get that professional sound I have always been striving for. Across several versions, I ‘attempted’ to prepare mix-downs and I ended up doing more harm than good. I can’t tell you how many YouTube videos I have watched, or plugin-ins I have purchased over the years that I thought I needed to make my mixes better. Quite honestly it was more of a mind-f**k than a help 😵‍💫 So I decided to book an in-person mixing session with @conordalton_mastering . This was an approx. 4 hours crash course from a professional engineer. I can’t tell you how valuable this session was to set me on the right path. It was great seeing a master at work; his thought process, tips and suggestions & strategies to finishing the mix. AND NOW IT SLAMS! Since then it’s given me that confidence to finish multiple mixes which I was putting off, as I knew the mixing process was blocking me from finishing tracks. So if you ever find yourself
