His first love was early 90s Hip-Hop west coast funk to east coast boom bap. An interest in dance music developed over the 90s when rave music was gaining popularity across the UK. Mid / late 90s rave scene of Club UK, Bagley's Studios, illegal warehouse raves and the infamous 441 in Brixton sealed the deal. Coxy headed up to Manchester in '97, and experienced the development of the tougher Drum
n Bass sound, and UK Garage as it started to smash the airwaves. DryBar / Manchester Academy and The Boardwalk clubs were the staple. From 2003 - 2011 Coxy lived in Bristol where DnB and Breaks were prevalent; witnessed the emergence of Grime, the ascendance of Dubstep. Star and Garter, Thekla, Academy, Level, Lakota were frequented, and the first professional gigs were created/ secured. Coxy promoted a number of successful nights at Soho club, bringing down from London UK Garage legend MJ Cole and Breaks producer School of Thought. Multiple performances at The Secret Garden Party at the Fish Seeks Bicycle tent and the Pagoda stage including back to back sets. He has performed a number of times at the legendary Disco Knights Camp at Burning Man. Coxy lives, DJs and produces at his Jungle On The Park studio in Holloway, North London.
