Save Traumaville!!
As many of you know I’ve been involved with a wonderful group of people working together to bring a different look at cabaret to festivals and stages across the uk and sometimes Europe!
Our shows highlight trauma in various forms include consent issues and mental health, in and artistic and personal way, on a public entertainment platform!
We also give space for people with disabilities to come together and get the support they need to express and create their art, I personally have had the emotional support I needed to believe in my creations and costumes, and progress my work in a way I never would have had the confidence to otherwise. As well as the physical support I need to still go to Festivals and be looked after by people who understand the physical barriers I face with my very debilitating condition. My life would be a smaller and less rich place without this and I feel very connected to my traumaville family!
Sadly due to very small festival budgets, dwindling funds, the tragic theft of a large amount of our equipment at a festival last year and the loss of nearly our entire costume store due to a leak in the storage unit, we are facing the sad facts that we may be forced to bring traumaville to an end.
We are heartbroken by this possibility and are hoping that we can get the funds together to keep us going and replace everything we have lost. And so we ask for you help, for everyone who’s found a home with us and for everyone who has seen our show and learned something been entertained or felt heard. Please help us keep traumaville alive. Thanks everyone ###
