The Folkestone Room: Named after Viscount Folkestone, Jacob Bouverie, the first President of the RSA. Not only does this room have a lovely view of John Adams Street but the carpet is made from recycled fishing nets!♻️

How are we doing this? One of the many ways we're doing this is using a 'London Larder' approach with our suppliers. You'll notice that our key suppliers are sourced locally, working with suppliers who are small businesses and reducing our carbon footprint at the same time.

The RSA was founded in in a coffee house 1754, a group of 11 men declared themselves to be the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce. The society was created in order to create initiatives that would further society in a positive way, it was a success.
Nowadays, our Coffee House is a place where people can share ideas, keeping the tradition of gathering together over tea, coffees or something a little stronger!

The Vaults is one our most in demand spaces in The House, with exposed brick and lighting that created cosy nooks throughout. For many years the Vaults were used as wine cellars by Sichel & Sons 🍷 and before that it was once a home for cattle and livestock!

The Great Room is one of the most recognisable rooms in The House, featured in TV dramas and often used for a gorgeous setting to say I Do. Although there is more to the room than meets the eye, The Great Room was where Alexander Bell first tested the telephone. Inside the Great Room you'll find the clock that's older than the building itself, once stolen in 1980, luckily the society found the clock, wrapped in a sleeping bag in a derelict garden in Peckham.
