Our next Guards Chapel Recital on MONDAY 23 JUNE at 1.10-3pm features the return of the ever-popular Guards Big Band. This long-awaited return of the Guards Big Band promises to be one of the highlights of the Guards Chapel Recital Series concerts and will take place in the open air on Chapel Square.

Jazz Across The Pond: A Big Band Salute to American, British and Allied Nations Composers

In a celebratory VE80 year, join us for an unforgettable afternoon of powerful music and timeless swing, funk and rock as we celebrate the enduring transatlantic bond between the United States, United Kingdom and allied nations through music.

📌 Please note the change of date from Tuesday 24 June to Monday 23 June and there will be two sets, going on until around 3pm. A bar with drinks and refreshments will be available and please arrive early to get a seat!

A special thanks to those of you who attended our joint clarinet recital with the Band of the Welsh Guards clarinet section.
We appreciate all your support in attendance as well as donations to our charities.
Also thank you to LCpl Thomas for the organisation and planning of a successful afternoon of music.

Rehearsals continue in preparation for the King’s Official Birthday Parade on Saturday 14th June; today’s rehearsal was the Brigade Major’s Review, which took place in front of an invited audience of 800.

🎼Join clarinettists from the Band of the Scots Guards and Band of the Welsh Guards as they perform a dynamic selection of music in a clarinet ensemble recital next Tuesday. From Cohen's 'Hallelujah' to traditional English and Welsh folk songs, we look forward to performing for you and hope to see you at The Guards Chapel, where we keep calm and ‘clarion’!

We are excited for this coming Tuesday’s Chapel recital, as clarinettists from both the Scots and Welsh Guards Bands come together for a recital of Clarinet music. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our next Guards Chapel Recital on Tuesday 27 May at 1.10pm features clarinettists from the Bands of the Scots and Welsh Guards.

This unique clarinet ensemble celebrates the vibrant spectrum of the clarinet family. From the bright, piercing tones of the high Eb clarinet to the warm, resonant depths of the bass clarinet, the group explores a rich palette of tonal colours. With a broad dynamic range and precise technique, the ensemble combines sensitivity and energy to bring each piece to life, showcasing the clarinet’s unique ability to paint vivid musical landscapes.

Programme includes: arrangements of pieces from film and stage, by James Horner, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim alongside music by Marc Mellitis, Eric Whitacre and Carl Friedemann.

Students from Shireland CBSO Academy sat with the Band as we held an open rehearsal at their school today. It was a great way to showcase the music the band performs on a day to day basis and we congratulate the pupils on their excellent playing throughout! Well done!

Today the Band of the Scots Guards have been supporting the National Scout and Guide Concert Orchestra as they performed in the Guard’s Chapel tonight.

Here the band is performing a marching display for the Scouts and Guides as they arrive at Wellington Barracks!
