What makes a wedding design feel truly personal?

For this spring celebration at Dartmouth House, every detail was chosen to reflect the couple’s story. They said their vows in the courtyard under blue skies, surrounded by friends and family, before celebrating with dinner in the beautiful Drawing Room and a fabulous party with a great live band!

The design was full of creative, meaningful touches: tables named after places they’d travelled together, a hand-illustrated world-map table plan, and wildflower seed packets as favours (a nod to the proposal in a wildflower meadow). Even the buttercream lemon wedding cake felt like a perfect fit for the season, simple, elegant, and joyful.

That’s what I love about creative design: it’s never just about how things look, but about how they feel. When every element has meaning, the day becomes an experience your guests will never forget.

Banqueting House, part of Historic Royal Palaces, has recently reopened after a stunning refurbishment. With its magnificent Rubens ceiling and soaring architecture, it’s one of London’s most awe-inspiring settings, a true reminder of how the right venue can transform your celebration.

The first half of the year flew by with two big weekend weddings in June and July, so I thought the last three months had been quieter… but looking back, they’ve been just as full.

From July to September I’ve had six venue visits, three early mornings at Covent Garden flower market, a flurry of illustration commissions, three brilliant industry events, and a beautiful August wedding in London. Off-duty highlights included celebrating my husband’s birthday with both our families, and our 24th wedding anniversary with a cosy night in.

The final quarter is shaping up to be just as busy - with a lovely intimate wedding next week, an exciting shoot in November, and plenty of illustrations and 2026 plans in progress.
