ORTUS is a high-tech, eco-friendly conference and events venue, which features over 1500 sqm of dedicated, flexible event space. The larger suites can be divided into 22 rooms, over 7 levels, as and when required. We have invested heavily in innovative technology and audio-visual equipment. High-speed Wi-Fi is accessible from all areas, and each room is equipped with top-of-the-range AV. ORTUS is
available for private and corporate hire and is suitable for meetings, conferences, seminars, workshops, performances, filming, private dining, receptions and celebrations. ORTUS was built by the Maudsley Charity, which is focussed on improved mental health. It is the historic charity of the Maudsley and Bethlem hospitals and has existed in some form since 1247. ORTUS is run through a partnership between the Maudsley Charity and Vacherin. Vacherin has been a partner of Maudsley Charity since the opening of the building and is committed support the Maudsley’s visions. The venue is easily accessible, located just 2 minute’s walk from Denmark Hill station (Zone 2). Café at the ORTUS is not only available to cater for events but also welcomes all. People are always welcome to pop- in, whether you are attending an event, live or work in the neighbourhood or are simply passing by.
