At the Elgin Town Hall on Saturday night the Elgin Strathspey & Reel Society hosted the 46th Annual Fiddlers Rally. This was my first Fiddlers Rally as their Musical Director having taken over from Ena Brian in June. Over 80 fiddle and accordion players from around Scotland took to the stage to entertain over 400 in the audience. Our special guest artists, Leonard Brown and Malcom Ross were fantastic. Gary Coull was our compere for the evening who was just hilarious. A brilliant night was had by all. Im already looking forward to next years Rally. A huge thank you goes out to all the organising committee for arranging the evenings event

Busy weekend with Elgin Strathspey & Reel Society. Friday night we played at the Glenfarclas Distillery where they were hosting a Slovenian visitor group for dinner in the dining room. Grand setting and all enjoyed an evening of Scottish music.

Elgin Amateur Dramatics Society pantomime production of A Christmas Carol will take place from Wed 11 to Sat 14 Dec 19 at the ElginTown Hall. Auditions taking place on 20 and 22 Aug 19 at the Sheddie, Kingsmills. If you want to take part in this years production whether on stage or back stage, contact Elgin Amateur Dramatics Society.

Back in June i took over as Musical Director for the Elgin Strathspey and Reel Society from Ena Brian. These are great guys to work with and all enthusiastic musicians. We have been working hard on this programme and i can say you are all in for a great nights entertainment on Saturday 21 September 2019 at 7.30pm with invited guests Leonard Brown and Malcolm Ross.

Very proud of my first two students I presented for their ABRSM piano exams. Congratulations to Jed Webster and Maureen Halkett who worked hard in preparation for their exam passing their grade 3 and grade 5 piano. Very good achievement and well done.

I am working with some of my students towards their piano exams. I go through all elements of the ABRSM exam that is required - scales, chords and arpeģgios, sight reading, aural tests and the piano grade syllabus pieces. Message from Andersons Care Home Elgin

So honoured to have been invited for Christmas lunch to the WOs’ SNCOs’ mess at RAF Lossiemouth ........we had a fantastic afternoon.....We were warmly greeted at the door by service personnel, then ushered into the lounge for pre dinner drinks before we were treated to the most amazing Christmas lunch. Throughout the lunch Angus played an array of tunes in the background.....This was just a warm up of what was to come.... We had some Christmas Carol sing offs......was hilariously funny...You are a ⭐️ Angus...well done. Where to begin with thanks...... A HUGE THANK YOU to Neil Bellamy and Sue Sibley for asking us along to the mess... to all of the personnel for making us so welcome to the chefs who provided us with a wonderful feast....From all of us at Andersons We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a Happy ,Healthy ,peaceful New year ✨.🌲✨

Well another panto season finished for the year. It was a honour being back as the musical director with the Elgin Amateur Dramatics Society for this years production of Puss In Boots. The dedication and hard work all these guys put in over the last 5 months has been incredible and paid off during show week. That includes the principals, chorus, dancers, front of house and back stage crew, sound and lights team. Great laughs all the way and well done. A huge thank you also to my team in band, Frances Campbell on drums and Simon Ludgate on Guitar.

You can still book tickets for this years EADS production of Puss in Boots at the Elgin Town hall running from Wed 5 Dec to Sat 8 Dec 18. I have the privilege of being their musical director this year and you are in for a treat and good laughs. We have all worked hard in preparing this production and ready to perform it. Come along and help us boo the baddies and cheer the goodies.

Had great fun yesterday accompanying the Dotty Crotchets on piano at the RVS Christmas Lunch in the Laichmoray Hotel in Elgin. Good laughs, excellent food and great company. All enjoyed the festive repertoire. Sets the scene for next month.
