Our Function Room Availability: January 2025

We have recently been inundated with enquiries regarding our function room. Our managers are working hard to get back to those who have been in touch.

At the beginning of each month, we will let you know our function room availability, this is to avoid disappointment and ensure we have the dates available.

Of course, these dates can change at any time due to someone taking the date or a last-minute cancellation, so please feel free to send us a direct message.

✨ Low Moor History ✨

Did you know Low Moor is rich in history? Have you ever visited the Manor House?

🏰 Royds Hall Manor is one of Yorkshire’s historic treasures. This Grade II* listed building, located west of Low Moor, dates back to 1640, with major extensions added in 1770.

Originally the seat of the Rookes family, the property passed to Joseph Dawson in 1788, a prominent figure in the ironworks industry of the time.

📜 Historical maps of Yorkshire from as early as 1600 show Royds Hall and Bolling Hall (now a museum) as the only notable houses in the area. Royds Hall is even mentioned in the Domesday Book!

Sitting over 700 feet above sea level, this historic landmark in Bradford, West Yorkshire, was once home to the Lords of the Manor of North Bierley and Wibsey.

🎄🍹 Christmas Rum Punch 🍹🎄

The big day is almost here! Why not mix up a festive drink to enjoy with your loved ones?

This fruity tipple has a Caribbean twist, featuring three types of rum! Here's how to make it:

Step 1:
Gather all your ingredients.

Step 2:
In a punch bowl or large jug, stir together:

Pineapple juice
Orange juice
White Rum
Dark rum
Coconut-flavored rum
Lime juice
Grenadine syrup

Step 3:
Add orange, lemon, and lime slices to the punch for a burst of flavour.

Step 4:
Serve in ice-filled glasses or chill in the fridge until ready to enjoy.

This isn't function room related but we wanted to help get you into the festive spirit with the little ones.. and you of course.

This is the perfect time of the year to bake some lovely festive snacks.

On the run-up to the big day, we will share with you festive recipes that you can make for the family or with little ones.

Today's festive bake is: Gingerbread men.

You'll need:
225g Plain flour (plus extra for dusting)
1/2 tsp salt
2tsp Bicarbonate of soda
1tbsp Ground ginger
1tsp Cinnamon
75g unsalted butter
100g soft brown sugar
100g golden syrup

Method:
Step 1: Heat oven to 190C/170C fan/gas 5 and line a baking tray with baking parchment. Sieve the flour, salt, bicarb, ginger and cinnamon into a large bowl. Heat the butter, sugar and syrup until dissolved. Leave the sugar mixture to cool slightly, then mix into the dry ingredients to form a dough. Chill the dough in the fridge for 30 mins.

Step 2: On a surface lightly dusted with flour, roll out the dough to a ¼-inch thickness. Stamp out the gingerbread men shapes with a cutter, then re-roll any off-cuts and repeat. Place your gingerbread shapes on the lined trays, allowing space for them to spread. Cook for 10-15 mins, then remove from the oven and leave to cool.

Tip: Buy your ingredients from Aldi as they are much cheaper than the leading supermarkets.

Bonus Tip: Roll out the dough cut the shapes out and then chill in the fridge.
