We’re almost finished getting LPF24 together and we’re delighted to be bringing back Strictly Piano.

Here’s a short film look back at the Pop-Up Strictly Piano on 4 November which was really a try out for us to see if it worked. And what a success!

😝So, after all the excitement and success of the Pop-Up events (there is now a full 📷gallery on our website) , no time to rest on our laurels. Time to get into detailed planning for LPF24. The programme is almost finalised and we're confident enough to let people have a sneak preview (below - more readable version on our website).

We still need to do a bit of admin and boring stuff 🤓and there might be some late changes but we're very confident that we're there. Tickets will go on sale just after Christmas.

A small selection of raw photos from last night's absolutely stunning Strictly Piano - the closer to our November Pop-Up. It was sold out, the professional dancers were brilliant, Viv McLean was wonderful, Alistair was a fabulous MC but best of all? You - the audience! Getting up from the first dance and joining in. Two sets being played twice due to dance demand and an encore. What a special night it was here in Ludlow. THANK YOU.

Don;t forget Open Piano today at St Laurence's Church 10am-4pm. Free recitals all day from accomplished local pianists - come and listen for a while and enjoy a coffee in the cafe and browse in The Shop.

Then Harry Hill at the Ludlow Piano Festival Junior Piano Pop-Up tonight at St Laurence's.

Leading pianist, Viv McLean, returns to Ludlow to play a selection of waltzes and tangoes for the piano (by Chopin, de Falla, Gershwin and Satie amongst others) which we hope won’t just get your toes tapping but will get you up on your feet and DANCING….. 💃🕺

Local ballroom dancing enthusiasts will lead the way and you can join in at any time. Or just listen and watch. We think it’s a world first !

It should be a joyful, memorable evening and the perfect end to our pop-up festival before we start preparing for next May.

Comedian and national treasure, Harry Hill, will introduce an evening of music from local JUNIOR pianists who feel confident enough to show us what they can do on the instrument. No doubt Harry will provide a few laughs along the way and we know there are some very talented young pianists in the Ludlow area who we hope will be inspired by this unique opportunity and who, in turn, will no doubt inspire us with their playing.

On Friday Nov 3rd, we are opening up the superb Steinway at St Laurence’s to YOU.

Yes, if you’ve ever fancied having a go on this magnificent beast yourself, now’s your chance !

With the kind permission of the church, we will be offering 20-minute slots throughout the day for pianists of any age (Grade Five standard and above) on the concert grand which all our visiting professional soloists rate so highly.

The church and cafe will be open as usual so you can play to your heart’s content in a casual setting while friends and visitors mill around and your music fills the nave and the arches.

Sequins, waistcoats, tango, Harry Hill, laughs, book a Steinway and a lot of fun.

We're almost ready to pop back for two days in November - just a taster of what Alistair and the team are putting together for LPF24. But we know you need a bit of piano fun in Ludlow before then..

Tickets for some of the events will be limited, particularly Strictly Piano as we need to create a dance floor in the round. As ever, we'll tell Ludlow first - make sure you're signed up.

Steve & Lyn are now doing the final touches to spreadsheets and the ticketing system - we're tapping away like those girls behind Dickie Davies on World of Sport.... (a-ha - you're as old as us 🤣)
