And one of those fun things..... Ludlow Piano Festival 2025.

The varied and exciting weekend of events has been put together by festival Chair, Alistair McGowan, who says… “Our programme for 2025 is as full of variety as ever!”

We begin with our legendary ‘Celebrity Concert’, (Richard Coles, Miles Jupp, John Finnemore, Suzy Klein, Ben Cooper, Paddy O'Connell, Cally Beaton, Amber Anderson and more...)

then, Alistair McGowan brings Erik Satie to life, we have concerts which turn the spotlight on American and Polish composers, a piano duet arrangement of Holst’s Planets Suite, ‘Music to Read To’ (where you are urged to bring your book to read while listening), ‘Desert Island Piano’ with Sheila Hancock, Debbie Wiseman plays her own music from ‘Wolf Hall’; we have more ‘Jazz in the Afternoon’, an evening of ‘Popular Classics’, solo recitals from two of this country’s most cherished pianists: Joanna MacGregor and Peter Donohoe and more…!

🏰We are delighted to be part of the Ludlow Castle Christmas Tree trail this year. And even more pleased that our tree has managed to withstand recent storms and gales. Well done to our very own Lyn Jones and Charlotte Page (Mrs McGowan) who did such a wonderful job.

🎹 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲

As promised on this week's earlier update, here is the final schedule for the Open Piano sessions at St Laurence's Church this coming Friday 8th and Saturday 9th November. Over 20 extremely talented amateur and semi-professional pianists are playing an incredibly wide range of music in 20 minute slots. Why not come along to the church, grab a coffee and cake and sit back and enjoy some superb live piano playing in the splendour of 'the Cathedral of the Marches'? It is of course free to attend but if you do, please make a donation to the Church at one of the donation points.
