Christmas has begun here in the Countryside Flowers Workshop, it’s going to be a busy month of wreaths, table decorations, garlands and lovely wreath making workshops which start this Thursday with the lovely folk at Constable Park, we love this time of year when there’s a huge array of foliages, twigs, seedheads and berries to make everything we make a little different to the one before.
You can order your wreaths & decorations to collect from us at the flower farm or come and see us at Colchester, Wivenhoe & Lavenham Farmers’ Markets or if you’d like to make your own we still have a couple of spaces left this Thursday on our wreath workshop, visit to book now!

There’s A LOT this year, this lot will all go into the poly tunnel to dry out ready for Christmas arrangements & wreaths, I just wish they weren’t so thistle like and prickly!

Florists buckets for a wedding this weekend, we love cutting our flowers for your orders.
This order was for deep reds with a hint of white, so after wandering around the garden we found this gorgeous lot, containing dahlias, dogwood, berries from our newly planted wood, a mix of 3 grasses, pittosporum, physocarpus and sanguisorba.

A beautiful autumnal tied sheaf for a funeral earlier this week, full of seasonal blooms all grown on our flower farm in north east Essex.
We joined the Farewell Flowers Directory this year, which is a network of independent florists all over the country providing you with beautiful, natural flowers, free from plastic & floral foam.

Seasonal Table decoration in beautiful autumn colours today on the bench in the workshop.
All homegrown flowers and foliage, these are definitely some of my favourites at this time of year perfect for a party, wedding or any celebration, our wooden boxes make the perfect solid base to arrange into bowls of water and chicken wire meaning they’re completely sustainable.

You supply the container and we arrange the flowers!
These bunches were made for a customer yesterday who had her own vases so we put them in our own just to show you what we can offer!
We can also supply the container whether it’s a jar, bottle, vase, pot, bowl, box, basket , jug or anything else you may have seen.
These arrangements contained a lovely seasonal mix of dahlias, hydrangeas, rosemary, tanacetum, roses, zinnias, achillea, ageratum, anemones, verbena, agastache and delphinium.

Dahlias are like sweets, they’re coming in every colour now, this gorgeous DIY bucket was collected this morning but I could quite easily have kept it!
Amaranthus, tanacetum, ammi visnaga and fountain grass all add a bit of texture to the gorgeous dahlias.

This weather is great for harvesting, bunching and hanging the 2nd batch of flowers for drying, our workshop gets hot and quite a lot of sun so we’re hanging these in another shed where it’s cooler but airy and dark.
Looking forward to having lots of flowers to continue on into the autumn and winter with nigella, helichysum, grasses, statice, pink pokers, achillea, scabious, tanacetum.

When you receive a lovely thank you and some wonderful photos from a wedding a few weeks ago it takes you back to the morning, delivering the brides bouquet, buttonholes, flowers for hair & bridesmaid & flower girl bouquets.
I was also lucky enough to see the marquee that Georgie & family and friends had decorated in the lead up to the big day, it looked beautiful with lots of greenery, a huge archway over the entrance and flowers from our DIY buckets arranged in vases on the tables.
Thank you for asking me to be part of your special day and Congratulations to you both Luke & Georgie!
