Just 67 days until the 1st XI begin their 2024 league campaign. Here's to what will hopefully be yet another cracking season after winning two consecutive promotions.

Some tasty looking fixtures coming up for the 1st XI this year. If you are about in Melksham or the local area then get yourselves down to Melksham House every Saturday and enjoy what will no doubt be an action packed summer on the cricket pitch.

With the cricketing summer due to start in just over 3 months time, the countdown to the 2024 season is now well and truly on. Now is as good a time as any to start looking forward to what will hopefully be another fantastic year for the club.

The 3rd XI had a mixed but ultimately positive debut campaign in 2023, recovering from a difficult first half of the season with a strong finish which saw them win 4 of their final 6 matches.

It was great to see several young players make such a great impression during their first season in competitive cricket. With Abi Footner now taking up the reigns as skipper, the forthcoming season will hopefully see them consolidate on the progress made last time out.

Gameday 💥💪

A massive set of fixtures for the club today.

1st XI have the opportunity to move up to 2nd place in Division 3, if they can get a win against 4th placed Potterne 4s.

2nd XI must get a result away to Lacock 2s to maintain the momentum in their late season promotion push.

3rd XI meanwhile face off against Calne 4th XI.

If you are able to then why not pop down to Melksham House and support the 1st team. Boundary Bar will be open as usual!

The Cricket Summer is nearing its end but has not finished just yet!

We have a great opportunity for Primary school children to do a little bit more cricket before going back to school. Wiltshire Cricket have teamed up with Active Trowbridge to offer some more FREE cricket sessions at the end of August. These sessions are aimed at girls, children from low socio-economic backgrounds and non-white ethnicities.

Let’s talk classes.

So I have taken all classes down to 4 weeks to make them more affordable and they are starting to fill up.

I am going to continue teaching from home on Tuesdays so classes will be smaller but it works well. So while I rebuild and navigate the times it’s the way to go.

Bradford on Avon is quiet so please share the word for other too book in.

Melksham Baby Massage is getting busy just slow in the Baby Yoga front this term.

That’s a low down of how things stand. Classes for. Start for another week so there is still plenty of time too book on.

Our fixtures for tomorrow. 🏏

All set for what should a historic Saturday. The club fields 3 sides at once for the first time.

If your out and about in Melksham then why not pop down to catch our 2nd XI in action against Trowbridge 4th XI. Bar will be open.

A mixed start to our season. ☹️🌧️😃

1st XI lost by 2 wickets vs White Horse.
The middle order failed to capitalise on a cracking start from openers Lewie Simmons (61) and Adam Mitchell (80), with a tail end collapse condemning the 1s to a disappointing 192 all out.

The visitors then reached their target with exactly an over to spare, despite a brilliant spell of 4-22 from opener Liam Merrett as well as 3 wickets from skipper Mitchell.

Unfortunately the 2nd XI are still waiting to get their season underway. Their trip to Devizes 3s was sadly cancelled.

A great day for the 3s though, who marked their first ever match by coming out on top of great match against Winsley 4s by 18 runs. Steve Burns (45*) and Tony Trotman (37) led the way as Melksham posted a 1st innings total of 220-5.

Despite a great effort from Winsley they, in the end, fell short of the target. Wickets for Melksham came from youngsters Finn Evans (2-22), Finley Burns (2-54) and Mustafa Nasiri (3-39).

We are ready to go for this weekend's round of WCCL fixtures. Would appear that the weather is set to play ball this time round, so here's to what will hopefully be 3 cracking games as we get our league season up and running.
