Incredibly proud to be featured in an article in The Field magazine this month. Who's coming to the Northern Shooting Show at the Harrogate Events centre tomorrow and Sunday? The show is action packed with a huge retail presence, clay shooting, gundog arena and much much more. We can't wait.

Who uses a semi auto for clay shooting here in the UK? We love them but use them predominantly for pest shooting.

Our immensely popular Duck Days are back for the 2023/24 season. We have 2 dates already booked for Saturday 9th and 16th September. They are 75 bird days, located near Lanchester in Durham. Prices are advertised as £345 per per peg but discounts may be available once costs for the season are confirmed.

It's a no frills, relaxed day that is ideal for novice and experienced guns alike. Elevenses and a round of drinks + some light bites after is included.

Supply of steel cartridges and suitable guns are available with compliance to our terms and conditions. Beowulf staff will be on hand for loading, coaching and general support duties. Pegs can be split at extra cost.

Please register your interest and book your place ASAP. Pegs are already selling quickly.

Happy New Year!

On Saturday Beowulf Sporting hosted another of our game days. As the agent we purchased the day from a shooting syndicate in Durham.
We believe shooting syndicates play a vital part in conservation all over the country. Each doing it's own small part to create habitat and help protect red and amber listed birds. Any help we can provide to ensure these syndicates continue to do what they do is a benefit to the countryside as a whole.

Last weekend Beowulf Sporting hosted a shoot day at a friendly syndicate in Durham. Safety is critical on days like these with novice shots accompanied to ensure everyone has an enjoyable and safe day. It is also highly important is that the birds shot end up in the food chain.
A friend of Beowulf Sporting runs cookery classes in a local secondary school. They highlight the source of the ingredients by allowing the students to butcher and prepare from scratch. Sometimes in fur/feather/shell/scales or as close as possible to the original condition of the harvested animal.
Field to fork with education mixed in. How teaching should be done. Beowulf Sporting is proud to be part of the process!

Following on from the post yesterday about generating conversation, one recent chat led to a friend taking this awesome photo and the creation of a website. A few weeks ago, at the local shooting ground a very multi-skilled gentleman, Ben Dorrington, took the time to ask me about Beowulf Sporting. The conversation covered our similar interests, business ideas and differences in skillsets.
Skip forward a couple of more conversations and I introduced Ben to Mike Crocker . Mike is an amateur photographer with a keen eye and has been helping us capture the enjoyment of our shoot days. Ben has a business BD Sporting Services but no real online presence, so I registered a domain, created a simple website and set up a professional email address.

The website and the courses that Ben provides needed content. Mike attended one of the courses and accompanied Ben on a deer stalk. Some of the result can be seen on the website and in the picture here. We all exchanged skills and gained something from this experience.
I look forward to working with these guys in the near future!

When you start a shooting business it inevitably leads to all types of interesting conversations. We have an inside joke at Beowulf Sporting that the best discussions always start with "Is it illegal or just frowned upon...?" 😆
One thing that has helped massively is branded clothing. People are just interested, especially if the brand has a strong sound to it and stand out logo. Blooming RuBee Stitches has been great in delivering quality embroidered kit. Our gilets really get noticed!
