TWELVE YEARS AGO TODAY, I left the safety of full-time employment and leapt head-first into the unpredictable world of being a full-time magician 🙌
I’d spent five years before that performing at events alongside my day job, until I finally took the plunge and made magic my full-time gig.
Over the last 12 years, there have been some incredible highlights that have made the leap more than worth it:
- Picked up a few shiny awards, including ‘Best Wedding Entertainer in the UK’ (twice!), and somehow ended up as a judge
- Performed at over 1,000 weddings and hundreds of corporate events and parties across the UK and Europe
- Met some unbelievable people - amazing suppliers and fabulous couples, some of whom started as clients and are now lifelong friends
- And yes, I’ve kept my flawless record of Employee of the Month…every single month…at Luke Howells Magician. Still undefeated. 🏆
It’s not always been smooth sailing - it’s long hours, there’s pressure, a lot of travel, and you’re wearing all the hats - but I genuinely love it. I get to be part of some of the most important days in people’s lives, doing something I’m passionate about. And for that, I’m massively grateful.
Here’s to chasing dreams, taking risks, and never underestimating the power of a little sleight of hand and a bit of cheeky banter.
