WHY FOUNDING DAY?

Milford Haven Business Circle made a request last year to be able to organise "founders Day", this was granted on the condition that we changed the name.

Milford Haven Town Council discussed this at one of their full council meetings, and it was felt that "Founders Day" was associated to the Town Council. As such they didn't wish for any issues that may arise to be associated to them.

What's important is that it is now being called Milford Havens Founding Day 2025 and this year we celebrate 235 years of the founding of Milford Haven.

Whilst we understand some may be frustrated in the name "Founding Day", it's very much understood that people will refer to the event as "Founders Day".

Please note the road closure we are applying for to be able to effectively and safely organise Milford Havens Founding Day 2025

Saturday 7th June 2025 from 11am until 4pm

We are seeking permission for a road closure on Charles Street, from the junction at Fulke Street to the end of the street at Dartmouth Street, from 10am until 5pm. This will allow an hour either side of the event for set up and take down, keeping everyone coming into town safe.

From the plan below you will see in orange potential places for inflatables, in red the zones prohibited to vehicles in the road closure and other laybys will be reserved for stalls.

Milford Haven Business Circle are pleased again this year to be organising Milford Havens Founding Day 2025 to be held on Saturday 7th June from 11am until 4pm.

Stall holder applications are welcome!! Please email [email protected] for an application.

LOOKING FOR QUOTATIONS PLEASE

Medical cover for up to 5000 people approx throughout the day from 10am until 5pm. No static place for treatment available.

5 x SIA DS Security cover from 9am until 5pm

Bouncy castles and inflatables minimum of 4 different sizes and types set up by 11am and taken down by 5pm

Face painters x 2 from 11am until 4pm

Singers and entertainers quotes for 30 to 45 min slots between 11am and 5pm

Work is continuing behind the scenes to make this event return for 2025. We are working with businesses as well as PCC and County Councillors to make sure everything is right and runs smoothly.
We are very grateful to all the businesses that have sent in emails of support for the event!
For any stall holders awaiting responses we will get back to you within March with updates!

Below you will see a letter that has been given to Milford Haven Business Circle a few weeks ago, signed by 6 businesses within Charles Street. We have worked with 4 of those and hope to have a resolution, however 2 others at the moment don't wish to work with us to hopefully bring this amazing day back to the Town Centre. We are still trying to work with all businesses, and hope a resolution can be found.

We as shopkeepers and business owners are objecting to the road closure at the top of Charles Street for founding day 2025.
We don’t have an issue with the road closure to begin at the post office down to the square.
We object to the above because it severely effects our businesses daily activities for deliveries and customer parking.

We are working behind the scenes with businesses who have raised objections to the event going ahead this year. Unfortunately a petition has been received from 6 businesses who have said the event causes issues with customer parking and business deliveries.

We have already spoken with some of these businesses to get a resolution, however we are still waiting to hear from emails sent to others to get a resolution.

With last years event being such a success it would be a shame for the event not to go ahead this year, however we will do our best to make sure there is an event to celebrate the founding of our town!

We may be quiet but we are working behind the scenes to get this awesome event going for 2025.

We are hoping to get all the shop on Charles Street on board to again be able to close the street, to allow a safe and fun event for the benefit of all the businesses within the town. As well as creating a fun event that will show what Milford Haven can offer.
