We look forward to welcoming you to our Week @ The Knees & Half Marathon triple crown event. next week :

Please read carefully as the information required is different on different days, depending on which day / days you are running with us.

Days 1 - 3 will take place at Willen Lake, (MK15 9HQ) You will need to pay to park if parking on site. Race numbers can be collected from the Lakeside gazebo which is next to Aerial extreme high ropes course. Race numbers will be available from 8.45am, the toilets outside the cafe & indeed the cafe itself will open for use of the toilets at 9am & race brief & walk to the start at 9.20am. The races will start at 9.30am. The Race HQ gazebo will be situated outside the Aerial extreme high ropes course.

The course is a short section followed by 9 laps.

Days 4 - 7 will take place at Caldecotte Lake, (MK7 8HP) Parking is free. Race numbers will be available from 8.45am, on Thursday & Friday portaloos will be available in the car park. On Saturday & Sunday the pub opens at 9am for toilet facilities. Race brief & walk to the start at 9.20am the races will start at 9.30am. The race HQ gazebo will be lakeside behind the pub car park. The course is a short section followed by 7 laps.

Day 5 - 7 will include our 100 Half Marathon Club Half Marathon on Friday, Deja Vu Half Marathon on Saturday & Deja Too Half Marathon on Sunday - the course each day will feature a short starting section heading out with the Marathon runners, then completing 3 full laps (same as the marathon) & an out & back section to finish.

If you are running multiple days you only need to collect a race number on the first day of the week you are running & you will wear that each day.

The routes will be marked on the ground with Flour.

Water will be provided in sealed 500 ml bottles on the water table for you to help yourself too. If you wish to leave personal drinks here please feel free to do so, but please leave me half the table for the sealed bottles.

Bags can be left at your own risk around the gazebo area, we can't store bags in the race gazebo so we can’t promise they will stay dry in the event of rain (a bin liner is a great bit of kit). The car park is just a few yards off each of the courses too.

Please ensure your number is worn on your front to ensure we tick you off for the correct number of laps.

We are guests of both the Lakeside Pub / Caldecotte Bar & grill & the parks trust. The pubs have kindly allowed us use of their toilets, please be courteous to other hotel & pub guests & leave the toilets as you find them. Please don’t leave safety pins or Vaseline behind.
The parks are open parks & there will be members of the public fishing, cycling, walking their dogs etc .. Please be courteous to them so we can all enjoy the parks & please don’t litter, a bin will be provided at the aid station & another shortly after (100 Yards ?).

We now have 11 people registered for the full Week @ The knees - all 7 days.

We have representatives from Spain, Australia, Ireland, England, Wales & Italy. (I wonder if we’ll be adding Latvia & Portugal ?)

With 11 registered that leaves us just 4 places for the full 7 days & the quest for the 8th medal !

Single day places are available for all 7 days although Saturday is almost full & Tuesday is surprisingly busy.

Our next available races with places - 7 marathons in 7 days sub 7 hours for 8 medals - we have full week at the knees places available along with single days - the weekends are filling faster than weekdays as expected but still a dozen or so places on Saturday & Sunday.

2024 will be themed Old Gold & Black for all our staples - Winter, 7 in 7, Easter, Fireworks & Die Hard.

2025 will be pink & blue 🦊

Good evening

We are looking forward to seeing over 100 of you for our Week @ the Knees event next week starting on Monday & I just wanted to cover a few things with you all.The first & most important of all is a change to the start time for days 1 - 3 at Willen, these will now start at 9.20am not 9am as advertised.

With the return from Covid many establishments have changed their opening hours. The Lakeside pub at Willen will open for Coffee, toliets etc...at 9am hence the change of start time for just those 3 days.

Days 1 - 3 Race registration will open at 8.45am at the Gazebo opposite the Aerial Extreme high ropes park (this is the same as when we have previously run at Willen. The start line is in front of the pub.

Days 4 - 7 Race Registration will open at 8.30am at the Gazebo behind the car park & the race start will be at 9am as advertised.
You only need to collect a number on your first day & will wear that same number on any other days you are running.

Please ensure your race number is pinned to your front & visible for lap counting you won't want to do too many laps (after a mini loop Willen is 9 full laps & after a small loop / section Caldecotte is then 7 full laps) The course will both be marked on the ground with flour & for the first lap each day at Willen I will be out on a lead bike (& hopefully not falling off it ?!).

Both course can be downloaded to Garmin or other GPS Device from the "Courses page" of the website.

If travelling by car don't forget you will need to pay for parking at Willen, Parking at Caldecotte is free.

Water will be provided at the aid station in sealed 500ml bottles, please feel free to leave personalised drinks in this area if you wish ?

Please do not litter !!!! There are about a dozen bins in the quarter of a mile beyond the aid station at Willen & we will provide a bin at Caldecotte - please do not litter & please be courteous to other park users, we are guests of Milton Keynes parks trust who very kindly allow us to use these fantastic lakes.

The address of each venue can be found on the website & I will post the link below for further information - Just remember 9.20am starts at Willen Lake.

Please be couteous when using the toliets at both establishments & leave them as you find them. Kerri & Brent have both been very generous in allowing us to use their facilitires so please don't abuse them. Both are wonderful hosts for post race refreshments & also boast fine lunch & dinner menus. Both are also attached to Premier Inns should you require accomodation ?
