The Dinner Club - Helen Aitchison

"Five people.

Five secrets.

Each needing healing, support and acceptance.

Derek’s life has changed suddenly. His wife of the past few decades has left him, unable to live with his secret anymore. Inspired by a TV show, he decides to start a dinner club to make new friends, the kind that might accept him if he can be brave enough to tell them the truth.

Eddie is grieving, a widower, struggling as a single parent. The void in his life slowly destroying him and his relationship with his young daughter.

Florence, supported by her carer Jessie, craves one more adventure to round off the last 80 odd years.

Violet needs a focus, a new identity, until she has the confidence to escape her grim reality with abusive husband, Ben.

Cara is lost, with nowhere to call home and no one to go home to, now she’s aged out of the care system.

Will this mishmash group fill each other’s souls as well as their plates?"

We are very excited, and a bit star struck, to have Selwyn Roberts joining us on Sunday 24th March!

Selwyn, was born in Cardiff, Wales and attended London College of Printing before working as a copywriter in Advertising. He made film commercials, then moved full time into the Film and TV business, starting as a lowly runner, but finishing as an award winning Producer!
Selwyn was Line Producer on ‘Muppet Treasure Island’ among many other films and TV productions and is now writing children’s books, alongside working in script writing for a film and also a TV series. Selwyn is happily married to Jane and lives in Felton with 4 Border Terrier dogs.

Selwyn will be giving children a chance to become authors/illustrators in this fun-filled creative session. Children can put their imaginations to the test to draw their own characters and produce some story ideas. With help and encouragement from the professionals, they are bound to come up with some winning ideas!**

🔗Book your tickets by visiting the link in our bio or visiting in Felton to purchase in person.

**This event is designed for KS2 children but older children and even big kids are welcome to join in.
