Our Story
Bespoke wedding florist specialising in vintage/country styling
My name is Lucinda and I’m the owner of ‘The Flower Fairy’ I have been a florist for over 13 years and it is my greatest passion along side my beautiful family of 2 gorgeous little boys, Arthur and Oscar, my husband and my Labrador, Barnaby. I am originally from Sussex but grew up in Somerset for most of my life living near to Glastonbury, this is a magical place and full of fairytales and I think this is where my love of fairies came from.
Art has always been around me growing up. My mum is an amazing fine artist, my grandpa an interior designer, and also my sister is an illustrator. I knew I wanted to do something creative and after studying BA (Hons) Illustration and also a BA (Hons) Costume Design I realised this wasn’t quite for me after having several jobs unrelated to Art including working as an air hostess I gravitated back to something creative and did a city and guilds in floristry and quickly realised this was what I wanted to do with my life! I have a total obsession with all things flowery!
I have worked at some of the South’s top florists including Ted Martin’s in Tisbury, Wiltshire which won ‘Best florist in Britain’ while I was working there. This florist is where my passion for country garden, wild flowers started. I have a vast knowledge now of floristry and after years of wanting to set up on my own I finally took the plunge, I absolutely love working for myself and am so excited for the next coming months as I have so many lovely weddings, workshops, events!
