Remember those sourdough starters I overfed on Saturday? 🤣 Well... I had enough for a loaf + 14 extra starters. I've given a couple away via my village page and made the most tasty seeded sourdough loaf... its a bit dense for a sourdough but we really enjoyed it all the same!
It cost less than £1 for the ingredients which is a huge saving, not that its on par with our local bakery but it was a nice challenge. I've never made a loaf of bread before from scratch so it was nice to say I've done it myself!
Maybe I'll attempt a white loaf or buns next.
Why on earth am I mentioning this here?! Do you know how much planning goes into a loaf of bread?! 🤣 It took almost 24 hours!!

Pros and cons to both - either way both fab electronic lists with recurrance, assigning owmership and alarms.

Did you know you can save hours of your laundry time?! How?! By using the delay feature!
I use this a few ways - either setting the washer to finish as I'm due to get up or as I'm due to come in from work or a walk.
This means the washing is ready to be dealt with immediately, saving me vital time, even on an office day!
Some tumble dryers also have the same feature, but on ours this elongates the cycle so I'm not convinced its a money saver... I'm also not keen on running the tumble dryer when I'm not home for safety reasons

Fan hack- pop a bowl of icey water in front of it! This helped me get our living room down by 3 degrees today... which doesn't sound a lot but it was enough to stop Ted panting and give him a little restbite (30 >27c with the blinds shut!)

Refills! Our first #AMSR video hasn't turned out too badly! To save time and money, I bulk buy products we use a lot of - we drink A LOT of cuppas in our house so Tea Sugar and Coffee I always buy in bulk to save me going back and forwards to the shop, then refill these jars maybe once per week. I wish they were square though so that they fit more in and stored nicely in the cupboard 🤦🏼♀️ Will be on the look out for square ones I think! 💙 DECLUTTER - A work in progress 💙 This might not look like a lot of progress... but for someone who likes to be prepared for all situations and bulk buys a lot of the food we eat, empty cupboards fills me with absolute anxiety... and I've been putting it off for 3 months 😬 As you may remember, we're having a kitchen extension built later in the year, so in preparation I'm trying to run down the supplies in the cupboards, the fridge and the freezer so that there is less "stuff" to pack away. Yesterday we signed off our plans so I knew it was time... as much as I hate the thought of it, it needed to be done. Today I cleared out the food cupboards - - threw away anything that was out of date - made a pile of items we likely won't eat to donate to a local food bank - cleared out the snack cupboards and refilled the wall cupboards so things were easier to access Alongside last weeks #freezeraudit and yesterdays #fridgeclearout I now have a full inventory of what needs using up, and I'm starting to meal plan for the whole month ahead. I won't assign meals to days just yet but being able to plot and assign food to meals will hopefully stop my urge to bulk-buy new stuff until we get the new kitchen. This is by no means a #cleaningchannel but I am a big believer that if you have the right tools for the job, you'll do it once and do it correctly, which will therefore save you time... and time is your biggest asset! For AGES I have been unhappy with how clean my glass and mirrors have been and now I've sorted it, I thought I'd share 🥳 So... what did I do differently today! 1. I used THE SAME minky glass cloth as always BUT I washed it differently... after seeing @lynsey_queenofclean post recently, I washed it in white vinegar instead of laundy detergant. 2. I cleaned it first with a Fairy washing up liquid solution using a microfiber cloth to get ride of the product build up... thats because last time I cleaned them, I'm sure I used @astonishcleaners mould and mildew by accident 🤣 The bottles are too similar in my bathroom cleaning basket in my defense 3. I cleaned them with my lovely clean cloth (Thanks Lynsey!) and my usual vinegar based window cleaner - I like the astonish one best but everyone is different Now they are gleaming again so I did the glass shower screen too! I can't wait to sort out the mirror fronted wardrobes (which are not as easy to photograph) and hopefully they'll stay smudge free for a while!
