We visited Newcastle Monster Trucks today. Wow! What an experience. Half a hour que in traffic to get into the muddy field they called a car park. Then a further 25 minutes quing on foot to get to the gate of an overpriced, outdated funfair. We left home in plenty of time to get to the racecourse 15 minutes before the gates opened. Thankfully, we didn’t actually get into the event till nearly an hour after it started. We saw very little of the 20 minute monster truck show as we had a 6 month old baby in a pushchair and couldn’t get anywhere near because of the mud. Gave up and headed back to the car and home before the inevitable chaos of cars stuck in the muddy field.
To top it off, they have the audacity to charge hard earned money for this shambles of an event. The only saving grace, we didn’t pay the £7.50 to park in the muddy field that nobody was policing. Feel particularly sorry for anyone who fell into that scam.
We would have had a better day if the car had broken down on the way!
Avoid if you can. Even if you’ve already bought tickets, don’t waste the fuel to get there.
