📣📣WE’VE BEEN KEEPING A LITTLE SECRET 🤫 📣📣

Hollyhocks is on the move!!! After nearly 12 years in our home at Fermoys we’ve decided we need to expand and grow the business, and to do that we need a new bigger home 🏠

We’ve been keeping it under wraps for a while but things will start to change in the shop soon so thought now was the best time to announce our news 🎉☺️

Our new home will be on Oak Tree Business Park in kingskerswell and we can’t wait to show you more of the behind the scenes of the move but we’re working through the summer out of both places while we make the transition. Dates will be announced in due course but until we let you know you will still find us almost as normal at fermoys until the end of the summer. Nothing will change for a couple of months 🫶🏻

We can’t wait to take you with us on the move and show you all of what’s been happening but we have big plans for the new digs so watch this space and we would love it if all of our loyal customers still support us once we move, from our shiny new home 🫶🏻

Hi 👋🏼 been a while since I posted and thought I better check in and say a big hello to all our lovely new followers on here 🥰. It’s also today so thought it would be fitting to post today to coincide with the event. This was us from a lovely wedding we did down in Cornwall last year with our photographer , but this is us, the faces of Hollyhocks - Holly, Ellen and Sue 🤗 If you come to the shop you’ll find at least one of us there at any given time, sometimes all of us! We have had a lot going on in the background and have so much to share with you all hence why I’ve not been on here much, but watch this space 🙃. I should be sat on the Isle of Man as we speak for the TT races but we’ve had some issues on a personal level with one of our animals so had to cancel my holiday which as devastating as it is, it had to be done but I have had the week to chill and re charge (got a cold too what a shock 😏) so I’m ready for next weeks lovely wedding for Caroline and Jemba. Will keep you updated but please keep an eye on socials for updates, I promise it’s one you won’t want to miss 🤓

5 stunning Coral Charm Peony with baby blue eucalyptus in a bouquet £22.50 🧡🧡🧡 These are premium peonies, the best (in my opinion ) you can get 😬😬. They open up huge and turn pale peach from this punchy coral colour. Only a few available so move fast if you would like some 🩷

These beauties are hanging on for dear life at the auctions but we enter that lovely time of year where the florist seasons over lap and that magical couple of weeks where we get to use and all at the same time 🫶🏻 The summer blooms are starting so the Dutch hydrangea are trickling through and the first of the peonies this week. Cannot wait to get my hands on the peonies tomorrow 🫴🏻

A few shots of last weeks wedding at for Jemma and Ollie 💙 Cool blues and whites with some fresh zingy foliages 🌿 We created an asymmetrical broken arch which was then moved around the venue to sit behind the top table after the ceremony. We adore working at Deer Park, stunning surroundings and such friendly staff 🥰

Peach will always be a firm fave of mine and I don’t care how controversial that is with those who think it’s 80’s. I think it’s lush 🙃😍😍 We’ve got some absolutely gorgeous things in for this weeks wedding, all the pastels so I know a few of you are having similar palettes this year- keep an eye out on what we are using, I’ll try and post some clips later in the week

That’s our weddings kicked off for 2024, an absolute delight to be back at for first of many there this year 🩷 We were there for Emma and Dan who celebrated in style with gorgeous pastel shades using seasonal beauties like and so much more. Didn’t get many shots so looking forward to seeing some pro shots later down the line but here’s a little one I managed to snap while the girls were getting ready in the window with that beautiful light ❤️

There aren’t enough words to articulate our gratitude to each and every one of you who made this week a success for us 🥹 Every single one of you who supported us by buying flowers either picking up from us or asking us to deliver today, we will never be able to say thank you enough for asking us year after year to do it for you. The family and friends for offers of help, help on deliveries and cheering us on, the girls for the graft they put in this week Sue and then and who both saved the day on multiple days this week 😅, drivers John boy our brother and , our suppliers Our bodies hurt but we really hope you can see how much love and hard work goes into making all the pretties up 💗 Just now going to slip off and try and recover physically and mentally from the marathon that is Mother’s Day and I’ll put up some best bits soon 🥰

🕊️🍃🤍Farewell flowers 🍃🤍🕊️ We get asked an awful lot whether we do flowers for funerals and it’s something we’ve never advertised for obvious reasons, but we’ve had the honour of creating many many floral tributes over the years for families for their loved ones. It’s a part of the business I take the greatest pleasure and honour in doing as it’s the most important piece of work I’ll ever do 🤍 After being asked a lot lately I thought I would gently show a couple of tribute close ups of pieces we’ve done over the years and if you would like to find out what we can do, please get in touch. We buy through auctions normally so after we sell our pre ordered lot we pay what they sell for at the clocks, so prices could change nearer the date of the traditional rose bouquets. 11 YEARS 🫨😍 Hollyhocks was born this day, December 27th 2012 🥰. A little selection of photos from over the years from the first days of the new shop and signage, us over the years, the shop going from a mish mash of stuff to evolving into what we have now with the bespoke counters and new shop layout 🫶🏻. We’ve definitely changed over the years in what we do and how we’ve progressed, two babies for el and a shop dog to add to the family ❤️ A HUGE thanks to each and every one of our customers, clients and friends, some of you have been there since day one, others we’ve picked up and luckily kept along the way. There isn’t a day that goes by without me thinking how lucky I am to be able to do what I do, and what a privilege it is to be so involved in people’s lives from births, farewells and everything in between including the hundreds of weddings we’ve worked on. I can’t articulate on here how grateful I am to do what I love but hopefully it shows 🫶🏻 Here’s to the next 11 😬☺️

🌈Rainbow Wreath 🌈 This was one of the biggest wreaths I’ve ever made, made by hand, with a traditional moss base made with fresh blue spruce and conifer. Rainbow pattern all the way around with co ordinating sticks to add to the design. It definitely needed muscles to hold it weighed a fair bit 😅😅😅

SUPERSIZED 🫶🏻 Wreath for a regular of mine, green and black was the brief, loved the natural look of this one with a bit or dried to add that wintery feel. Oh and yes I’m wearing crocs with fleecy socks, comfort is key before it gets completely freezing and the docs come out 🙃
