Please note
If you are visiting Jump For Joy in the next few weeks we are only accessible from the Salhouse Road end of Green Lane West.
The road is closed from
Wroxham Road end until 19th Feb due to roadworks.
Diversion is along the NDR to the Rackheath roundabout.

PLAY CENTRE SUPERVISOR/DEPUTY MANAGER

Jump For Joy is a family run indoor children’s play centre located in Rackheath, approx 5 miles from Norwich.

We are looking to recruit a senior member of staff to join our existing friendly team. You will be required to deputise for the manager and will regularly be in charge of the centre.

We are looking for someone to work two week days each week, (Tues -Fri) and three weekend days each month, (Saturday or Sunday). These will be allocated on a monthly basis depending on bookings, therefore a degree of flexibility is required.

Week day hours are approximately 9.30am - 4pm, or 6.30pm should a birthday party be booked.

Weekend hours are approximately 8.45am -6pm if we are fully booked.

Occasional sickness and holiday cover will be required.

Training and uniform provided.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be carried out by Jump For Joy, at our cost.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid At Work and Level 2 Food Safety In Catering will be required. If not already held you will be required to complete these, again at our cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Supervising children’s birthday parties, and play sessions. Ensuring that these run smoothly and on time

Ensuring play areas are safe for use. Monitoring those using the frames to ensure they are used correctly. Dealing with any unsafe play.

Allocating duties to junior members of staff. Ensuring these duties are completed satisfactorily

Completion of documentation required for the safe running of the centre.

Ensuring cleanliness of the centre and play areas. Making sure centre is ready for next days business

Preparing/serving food and drinks to customers. Complying with safe food handling procedures Supervising junior staff involved in food preparation

Cash handling/use of till and card machine. Completing end of day procedures for these.

Booking parties and completing necessary admin. Preparing for each weeks parties.

Answering telephone, dealing with customer queries and bookings.

Securing building at end of day.

SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

Excellent customer service skills

Enjoy working with children and public

Friendly and outgoing

Reliable

Must be able to work a flexible rota and cover for illness/holidays

Great communicator

Good organiser

Able to make decisions and problem solve. Able to use own initiative

Able to deal with customer queries/complaints

Able to work as part of a team

Salary: £9.50-£10.20 per hour

PLEASE NOTE
Between 4th Jan and 25th March 2022 it will only be possible to access Jump For Joy from the Wroxham Road end of Green Lane West.
The road will be closed at the Salhouse Road end of Green Lane West due to roadworks related to the new housing.
The diversion will be via the A1270, Broadland Northway (NDR) as shown on the attached map.

Following the government announcement yesterday, all visitors aged 11 or over will now need to wear a face covering in the centre and within the play frames, unless exempt. These can be removed when eating or drinking at your table.
Staff will continue to wear face coverings.

STAFF VACANCY

We currently have a vacancy for a member of staff to work within our existing friendly team.

Hours of work will be primarily at weekends, during school holidays and weekdays after school to cover both birthday party bookings and our Pay and Play sessions.

Duties will include food preparation, serving customers, use of till/card machine, answering the telephone, booking parties, and keeping the centre clean and tidy and safe for our customers.

A friendly personality and good customer service skills are essential. Able to work on own initiative and within our team.
Current Level 2 Food Safety In Catering and/or Emergency First Aid At Work certificate an advantage but not essential.

Will need to be flexible as hours are variable. Occasional illness/holiday cover will be required.
