Taken with the self timer on my camera, balanced on a log (I forgot my tripod) our annual family photo during our annual Christmas Eve walk. 🎄
It could be better, I could have remembered to wear a better outfit 😆 its not perfect. Alfie is pulling a face, obvs. Hudson's smashing it as always. And that's family isn't it in all its raw form? But we are all together in a photo, which is an achievement in my book!

⚠️ WARNING SUPER LONG CAPTION. //
To echo the words of a lovely friend of mine / business owner I've pretty much worked 247 for the festive period and 6 days a week or more for most of this year. Whether it be capturing imagery, answering emails, editing photos, completing urgent requests, responding to quotes and enquiries, marketing, coming up with new creative ideas and collaborating on projects, building relationships and aiming to meet everyone's requirements (without being chased) to mention a few of the tasks I partake in running my own small business.
I love it.
And it's been a fantastic year which couldn't have happened without you. But with growth comes challenges and it's been a challenging, suffocating, amazing, fun, hectic and crazy year, which has nearly got the better of me in parts and one during which I welcomed the help of both and thank you to you both for your support. ♥️

I am super grateful that Christmas is the ONLY holiday where I absolutely do not work so I'm going to enjoy it for a while and switch off! 👏🏽

Thank you for making this year for me, my most fantastic year yet. Thank you for your support, for your patience (in parts) for telling your friends about me, for being loyal to me and for becoming a friend (a lot of you) yourselves. And finally for nominating me for another award.

This year I've welcomed so many new people into the lucyewarner photography business some big brands under and some gorgeous couples with .warnerweddings
I've been lucky enough to capture an obscene amount of families and little people under and I am forever grateful that you continue to help me to make this business successful. 🙏🏽

So Merry Christmas!🎄

I always get that feeling on the eve before Xmas Eve that I've not baught the right stuff or created enough of the magic, haven't grabbed many surprises or paid enough attention to the list they wrote Santa. Not managed to get that last thing they asked for, that my choices won't live up to the hype of Xmas, or worried that they've grown out of the thing I baught 6 months ago, now.
Realistically mama, non of the above matters.
It's really not about stuff and things, it's about being present. It's about being with others, showing love, and being grateful. Grateful to have each other. I teach my kids to be grateful and appreciative of whatever they have, so I'm not sure why I stress myself so....
Tonight I vow to sleep and to tell myself that I am enough, what I've done in prep for Xmas IS enough and my children are happy and loved. You should do the same. 👋🏽 ♥️✨

Every season I get in my own head as to how to best capture the babies. I don't like propping in baskets or mini sleighs and I don't like unnatural looking images or fussy poses, it's nice for families to have a sweet little photo of babies first Christmas and I'm always stressing that I haven't done them justice. Shooting overhead or capturing them in someone's arms.
So this year I tried propping the babies who were wobbly or nearly sitters up on cushions using a soft circular bauble to keep them balenced. And here are a few cuties of Harley, who had the most beautiful eyes and was a little delight to shoot. ❄️ 🤍🤍

How excited are your kids getting for Christmas? And how much are you last minute panic shopping? Be honest. I do it every year and then on Christmas Eve realise I have bought up most of the things in the world and have to put them aside for next year's birthdays and Christmas!
And why do I feel it's ok at this time of year to eat pate for snacks, drink baileys after dinner and buy Camembert “for the fridge” PLUS we are on our 6th box of mince pies already this season….Christmas madness has begun!! Ask me january 1st if the diet has started.

How ready for Christmas are you?
I can't believe it's next week. 🙃 And what a year it's been for this family welcoming their second child, first baby girl into the family. One that I've been lucky enough to photograph twice already, (three times if you count her being in her mamas tummy.)

Hudson and alfie read every other page each of their Home Alone book to me this morning before breakfast, because they're getting up at 5am and every day to open their advent calendars so we are having extra long mornings, constructing Lego and refusing to get dressed for school! Update: I'm still continuing to send out Christmas galleries and final images daily. If you've had your gallery you have until the 17th of December to pick your image's before Xmas. Or you can select and recieve them in the new year. 👋🏽
If you've not had your gallery yet, your timelines will be confirmed when you recieve it.
All images will be out before Christmas and then I'm off until the 11th of Jan with my family. Woop. 🙌🏽

The last pop up is planned for tomorrow with after 15 dates (can't believe it), studio and outdoor sessions are all done after 12 dates (so many photos taken...) and then that's Christmas 2024 on the wind down for another year!

When you have more than one child the struggle to give enough of you to each of them, especially on challenging days, weeks or months, or phases... can be overwhelming. And as a mother I myself often feel I couldnt give more of myself to each of my children if I tried, yet if you asked them, they'd probably say that one or the other always gets more attention, one always gets away with more, or doesn't get told off as much or has more of my time and affections.

Shout out to all the parents finding the time to tend to all of the children all of the time and showing them the love and comfort they need you are doing an amazing job, and they feel your love.
