We are baking for a fundraiser event on Friday 13th December and we will be baking some extra yummy treats so we can have our 1st opening bake sale next weekend.
We are not taking orders for this, we will simply advertise on Friday evening at 6pm what we have available.
All orders will be delivered Friday evening 7-9pm or Saturday morning 9-11am. We will cover the Royton/Shaw area.
Our usual customers will be aware that these bake sales sell out quickly so if you want a yummy treat please ensure you are ready to see what is available.

ALL ABOUT ME…

My name is Gemma and the face behind the business.

Throughout the last 22 years I have mainly worked in catering, starting at 16years old working in McDonalds. Here I progressed from a crew member to a manager. I still believe to date that this job taught me a huge amount of skills which have enabled me to get to where I am today. After this I worked in various food environments; restaurants, supermarkets and had my own cake business making birthday and wedding cakes.

I also worked briefly as a care worker for older people and this job was one of the most rewarding that I have ever had. Helping people to stay independent for as long as possible at home and being with them in their final days was something that I felt an honour to do.
I have a passion for helping people and I care for all members of our community and will do whatever possible to help and support.

I took some brief time out of work to care for my 3 young sons all of whom have a diagnosis of AUTISM. This makes them all extra special and taught me a lot of patience and resilience. Throughout this time I set up support groups and helped other families with similar challenges.

More recently, over the last 6 years, I worked at a charity in Manchester as kitchen manager. In my role there I supported elderly service users with a nutritional meal at the luncheon club and delivered food based projects throughout the week with my favourite session being the Friday cake morning. Who doesn’t love a slice of homemade cake?
I also worked as fundraising lead for the charity and in my 6 year service there raised more than £60,000, most of which was done in my personal volunteering time. The highlight of my fundraising experience was throwing myself out of a plane at 15000ft in September, a skydive had always been on my bucket list. What a crazy moment that was! Some people call me an adrenaline ju**ie and maybe they are right.
I enjoyed my working time at the charity and gained valuable experience in regards to food safety, kitchen management and also managing volunteers who helped out.

Having my own business has always been a dream so here I am having taken a huge jump to go solo. I’m determined to deliver a quality service to local residents. I have a passion for cooking and baking and love enjoying trying new creations in the kitchen.

My plan for the future is to support the community with a meals on wheels service and grow this to other areas which also need the support. I intend to also do catering for parties and will not give up the cake making anytime soon so will have regular bake sales for everyone to enjoy.

My dream for the future will be to have a bigger premises where customers can visit but let’s just take one step at a time.

I am approachable and always try to help wherever I can so if there is something which you think could help someone which I don’t offer please feel free to get in touch.
