Magdalen College, Oxford history society Welcome! This is the page of the Macintyre Society, a Magdalen-based history society at Oxford University.

We host speaker events with prominent historians, social events that are sometimes history related but are often just for fun, and are here to provide advice for any history who have any questions or issues, from library struggles to essay crises.

Hello all. Thanks a million to everyone who attended our Tristram Hunt speaker event on Wednesday. We really hope you enjoyed it! Also, if anyone took any photos (I think I saw some audience members doing so) please could you send them to us?

To those of you seeking more topical college history society events, I say look no further. Our colleagues over at LMH will be hosting an event on Monday expanding on some of the topics Tristram Hunt was addressing.

Hangover and History starting in ten minutes in the Oscar Wilde Room! Anyone who doesn’t know where it is - turn right when entering the OKB, and go up the stairs. There’s a door with a sign saying Oscar Wilde Room, go through and walk to the end of the corridor!
