Magdalen College, Oxford history society Welcome! This is the page of the Macintyre Society, a Magdalen-based history society at Oxford University.

We host speaker events with prominent historians, social events that are sometimes history related but are often just for fun, and are here to provide advice for any history who have any questions or issues, from library struggles to essay crises.

Magdalen's History Society, the Macintyre Society, are hosting their first event speaker event this Thursday from 5.30 - 7.00 in the Grove Auditorium
‼️ Free to attend and no sign up required ‼️

We've got renowned modern German history Professor, Sir Richard J. Evans coming to speak about his new book, 'Hitler's People: The Faces of the Third Reich'.
For any keen lawyers, Professor Evans was also the lead witness for the prosecution in the infamous Irving trial.
We're very lucky to be hosting this and it's a rare opportunity to listen to someone who has changed how we understand history.
It would be wonderful to see many of you there ☺️

Hello all. Thanks a million to everyone who attended our Tristram Hunt speaker event on Wednesday. We really hope you enjoyed it! Also, if anyone took any photos (I think I saw some audience members doing so) please could you send them to us?

To those of you seeking more topical college history society events, I say look no further. Our colleagues over at LMH will be hosting an event on Monday expanding on some of the topics Tristram Hunt was addressing.
