Joining our stage lineup at Fantasy Con Scotland on June 7.

Dàna are a new and exciting, all-female band based in Glasgow. The band's name, meaning “bold” or “audacious” in Gaelic, perfectly encapsulates their vibrant sound and approach to performance.

Dàna have spent the past few years honing their craft at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and immersing themselves in Glasgow's vibrant traditional music scene. Each member of Dàna draws inspiration from their diverse regional backgrounds and dialects. Since emerging, they have quickly established a strong reputation, performing at numerous festivals and events across Scotland this year. Recent performances include, Carradale Music Festival, Under Canvas, MOKFest and Piping live.

Who says make-believe is just for kids? This over-18s event is your chance to escape reality and step into a world of magic, adventure, and imagination. Be an elf, a warrior, or maybe even the villain—it’s your day to create your own story.

What's on?:

✨ Epic Quests & NPC Encounters: Meet characters who might challenge you in a tavern arm wrestle, send you on daring quests, or ask for help with stolen treasures.

🎭 Live music & stage entertainment set the perfect atmosphere for your fantasy adventure.

🛍️ Explore the magical marketplace, meet dragons roaming the venue and hear tales from fantasy authors.

📸 Capture your adventure in a medieval dungeon area, with all digital photos included.

🎨 Costume & Creature Contests: Compete for glory and prizes in our exciting contests.

🍽️ The Big Feede Tavern: Refuel with hearty meals, magical potions and mead.

All activities on the day are included in your entry ticket, except anything you wish to buy from the marketplace or enjoy at the tavern.

Scotland's Creative Potential:

I left school at 16 with no idea what I wanted to do. I studied film production for a while, but with not much of an industry or work here, I ended up in the oil industry, where I stayed until I was 33.

Now, I run events, puppeteer, and freelance in business support. But one of the most meaningful parts of my work is showcasing Scotland’s creative industries—our filmmakers, actors, authors, prop makers, costume designers, and more.

We lose so much of Scotland’s talent to other countries because people think creative careers can’t thrive here - and the creative industries are losing more support all the time. But Scotland has so much untapped potential, and I want to prove it’s possible to build something amazing right here.

If these events can help just one person realise that a career they hadn’t even thought of exists—a career that fills their soul instead of draining it—then it’s all worth it. We don’t need more people spending most of their lives doing something that destroys their spirit.

Scotland’s creatives deserve to be celebrated. Tag someone (or yourself) so we can find more amazing people

Tabletop RPG with Lost Haven Art
Skies Above - 11.30am
Abbadon - 2pm

Skies Above takes inspiration from classic titles in the Final Fantasy series as well as iconic games such as Dragon Quest, Secret of Mana, Grandia, and Lunar, with a sprinkle of Legend of Zelda magic. It's a still in development game that uses a singular d8 in its dice rolling mechanics. Those who chose to join an adventure in the skies will explore a floating island ruin containing ancient technology and hidden dangers and possible stumbling upon a larger conspiracy. Players don't need to bring anything, the GM will have characters, pencils and dice for anyone to take part!

Abbadon is a dark fantasy tabletop RPG set in the world of Haven. The seals locking away the lords of Hell are breaking, twisted creatures stalk the lands, dark omens hint at darker prophecies coming to pass and only a few in the world have the steel to face such danger. Players don't need to bring anything, the GM will have characters, pencils and the playing card deck required to play, so anyone can take part!

Claire Casey, an indie fantasy author from Paisley, will be joining us at Fantasy Con Scotland!

Claire isn’t just a writer—she’s also a re-enactor and a former archaeologist, which adds a unique flair to her storytelling. After earning degrees in Archaeology and Scottish Literature from the University of Glasgow, she worked on amazing archaeological sites like a Neolithic settlement in Orkney. Her experiences and love for Scottish and Norse mythology shine through in her writing.

She’s published poetry, short stories, flash fiction, and the first two novels of her Ravensrise Trilogy: “Ravensrise” and “Raven’s Fall.” In “Raven’s Fall,” Ravensrise becomes the center of resistance against those fighting magic and those using dark magic to threaten Arella.
