Roundhouse Project Background
Over the last few years, we have been working hard to broaden the school’s curriculum to make it creative and stimulating. A key aspect of this creative curricular approach has been to increase the range of Learning Outside the Classroom experiences, including the use of our school grounds and immediate surroundings, forging links with other schools, taking trips to
theatres, galleries and museums, running activities in the natural environment which promote a better understanding of the world around us and organising adventurous activities, camping and other residential visits, particularly for the older pupils. The Roundhouse Project will support Learning Outside the Classroom. It will also give us a base for some of the Forest Schools activities. We also see the Roundhouse as a resource for the community and hope that it will be regularly used free of charge by local youth groups and village groups who already support the school. http://www.harting-roundhouse.org.uk/
