On Saturday 6th July at 11.30am, St Levans Park Summer Fun Day, St Levans Park, Ford, PL2 1JA two sisters will undertake an emotional Brave The Shave fundraiser in aid of The Primrose Foundation.

Jane is braving the shave in honour of her sister Dawn who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently in receipt of treatment under the Primrose Breast Care Centre at Derriford Hospital.

Dawn has raised hundreds of pounds for various cancer charities over the years however this time it’s Jane's turn to raise some funds in recognition of the kindness and support her sister has received from the Primrose team.

Jane wants to shave her hair because she understands that losing your hair is a massive deal many women face due to cancer treatment, and she wants to show her sister she isn't alone in this battle.

When we spoke to Jane she said ‘‘The reason we chose The Primrose Foundation is because they have been a great support to Dawn throughout her treatment and operation. We believe they are a very deserving cause and would like to raise as much as we can for this amazing charity’’.

She continued to say ‘‘Dawn has been so brave in her fight against breast cancer, which is for the second time. She has now had a mastectomy and is undergoing chemotherapy. She often raises money for Cancer charities but has felt unable to this year (understandably) In an effort to both support her and help her with her charity goals I am braving the shave’’.

Jane has already raised a massive £370 on her Facebook fundraiser and has now set up a JustGiving page making supporting this wonderful fundraising event even easier to get involved in.

The two sisters wish to invite everyone along to witness this emotional experience and if you can't attend on the day are asking people to dig deep and donate a few pounds to their JustGiving page which can be found below.
