Really enjoyed hosting this in-venue wine tasting for the Bournemouth Law Society last night at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth. What a fabulous venue for a wine tasting too!

The theme of the tasting was ‘Diverse grape varieties and regions’ covering:
Assyrtico from Crete 🇬🇷
Viognier from New Zealand 🇫🇰
an Orange wine from Chile 🇨🇱
Pinot Noir from Romania 🇷🇴
Mencia from Valdeorras in Spain 🇪🇸
Primitivo from Italy 🇮🇹

It sure provided a unique experience and had to be a fruit day in the biodynamic calendar as all the wines tasted top notch!

The cheese boards 🧀 were enormous and a very welcome interlude in between to help soak up all the wines! 🍷

What a wonderful audience too and a delight to share some deliciously diverse wines!

I bet you've never tasted a Sonic Clover Club? That's because we invented it! A twist on the classic Clover Club, using blue raspberry syrup, creamy and blue - and tastes identical to the original.

50cl Gin
20ml Fresh lemon juice
15ml Blue Raspberry syrup
1 egg white

You can use a non-alcoholic gin like the Sipsmith free-glider for a non-alcoholic treat in dry January - although any conventional gin can create this cocktail!

Shake all ingredients in a shaker, add ice and re-shake. Strain off the ice into a coupe glass and garnish with a fresh raspberry (optional).

Why not join us in the gin club on the 27th January to try this for yourself! ;) Obviously we will be mixing this real gin - the newly released Bombay Sapphire premier Cru.

The VINGIN Club is BACK!!!!

The last Thursday of each month we will be hosting the live zoom tastings, alternating each month between wine and gin themes!

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

How will you be kick-starting Christmas day? Will you choose a breakfast of smoked salmon, American breakfast, Mexican, full English breakfast, or go French style with croissants....

Whatever, takes your fancy ...why not indulge in our decadent breakfast and wine pairings, a perfect way to start Christmas!

1) Smoked Salmon, this can be enjoyed on pancakes, or with fried or scrambled eggs and bacon.

Wine Pairing: Brut Champagne or Cava. The richness of a champagne or Cava would be an equal match for the strong flavours of smoked salmon for a truly decadent way to start the day!

2) Pancakes/panettone French toast or waffles with red currant compote or Croissants and strawberry jam.

Wine Pairing: Prosecco Rosé, a delicate, sparkling rosé - with up to 15% Pinot Noir, adding a hint of red fruits.

3) Chocolate brioche/pain au chocolat

Wine pairing - Brachetto d'Acqui, fantastic sparkling wines from the hills of Piedmont. Extremely popular in Italy, but relatively unknown in the UK. A delightfully sweet and smooth drink, with a lower alcohol content - pairs beautifully with chocolate.

4) Full English breakfast

Wine Pairing: English Sparkling wine. The refreshing, zippy, high acidity is perfect to cut through the grease and cleanse the palate. If you are local to Dorset, why not try English Oak in Lytchett Matravers or Langham Estate, in Dorchester. The English countryside is now teaming with vineyards, and these English gems are just waiting to be discovered!

LOVE receiving reviews like this one, especially when this event was more challenging, due to the short notice!

Our team did an amazing job putting together over 60 gin tasting kits, with 4 different styles of gins, mixers, syrups, chocolate & fruits along with all their personalised gin tasting mats, notes, score sheets and cocktail recipes.

'Even at such short notice - the presentation, delivery and the hosting of the event was a such huge success and lots of fun'.

I also had so much fun hosting this Corporate Gin Tasting and loved sharing my knowledge, in a fun, transferable way that enabled them to understand their preferences more and experience lots of different styles as well as, how to compliment and serve these within seasonal, retro and modern cocktails.

Now, to prepare for the next one, featuring organic and sustainable gins! I can't wait!

Super excited to have been asked to be a guest speaker at 2 events recently - to promote 'Ethical wines' a subject which I am passionate about.

We all try to be a bit greener - buying organic produce, shopping with reusable tote bags and recycling just a bit more than we used to....

BUT...do we even think about making ethical choices when we buy wine?!!

If you care about:
~healthy living
~the environment
~welfare of those in developing counties or the farmers
..then these are are great reasons to buy organic (or even taking it a step further - biodynamic or natural wines). Wines as they used to be made centuries ago, with a complete expression of their terroir.
