I will say it out loud and Fraser my son has been calling it for a while, I believe Jurgen Klopp’s goose is cooked. They have been utterly shambolic defensively all season, so, so, easy to play against, to get at. I’m looking at their shape and there is no shape, I’m not going to pick on individuals but what I will say is you can always tell if a defender can defend when there’s no protection in front of you.
I am firmly In the FSG out brigade, had their number a long time ago, living on Suarez and Courinho money for far too long now, but they paid for new stands and a new training academy, HORSESH*T, they took out loans against Liverpool FC and are having them paid back at an accelerated rate which is impinging money being spent on new players.
Anyway, I digress, Klopp, always had 6 hard working players in front of that defence, not any more, defending starts from the front and the new players are not doing it and an ageing midfield is not helping matters, so WHY, isn’t Klopp changing his system because that’s his identity and you always stay closest to your identity. There are enough decent players in that squad to be comfortably in the top 4 if he adapted to a new system BUT he won’t because that’s his identity!!!
I have no doubt he will rock up in another top club, with younger energetic players and have success again but it won’t be with Liverpool unless they get north of £300Million to revamp their ageing squad
