Includes- a fun tutorial on all aspects of putting together the perfect graze board.

You will take your board with you to enjoy at home after the event.

Ticket price also includes a x1 glass of fizz per person OR a soft drink. (additional glasses or fizz or soft drinks also available to purchase during the event)

🎉ANNOUNCEMENT 🎉

We many not have use of our outdoor space…. But we’ve been given the go ahead for indoors. We remain closed as a bar/restaurant until the cladding works are complete… but in the meantime we plan on using The Graze for a pop up market/private event space. First event Saturday May 11th-pop up market £40 per stall-get in touch to reserve your spot. Or alternatively if you are interested in renting the graze for a one off event D.M us. Thanks for your continued support.

This is why our hand has been forced… no notice that today would be the day… moved our planters (& damaged items) removed our access- despite us still being paying tenants- that are still trying to work out how to give this town an independent business! This will take at least a month to complete (scaffold over the graze) then 18 months re rendering works. Zero communication or empathy regarding a huge investment & livelihood lost. I turn up Today to gain access to my business and I’m confronted with this eyesore… someone will pay for this- and I will fight to the death to make sure it’s not me & my family! 😢

To our wonderful customers that have supported us over the past 2 years… Thank you for your support- especially our regulars (you know who you are ❤️)

Unfortunately we have some very sad news to share…

despite (and I cannot state this enough) & to end any INCORRECT speculation that we aren’t making any money/we’ve stiff competition/you aren’t surprised as ‘we’re never open’ and let you know the real reason we are having to close our doors…

As you may of noticed, the mirage building that we are located in, now has scaffolding being erected- this is due to the building having many structural issues including a cladding issue… and due to some of these issues the entire building needs all render taken off & is to be re-clad/re rendered. We have been informed that in order to do this, the works will not be phased and the entire building will have the scaffolding up (and our end in particular will have boarding all the way around- so no outdoor seating area and no view in or out of the windows… or of the lovely Marina view that we very much rely on. This will be the case for the best part of 2 years minimum.) The works will be very noisy, disruptive & messy , and unfortunately, already we have seen a massive dip in trade since the works have started on the building… This, along with the us not being able to replace key members of staff have forced us to close the ‘bar’ part of the business, however… the takeaways & event catering (how we first started) will continue. The building we occupy, even though small has absolutely huge overheads (our energy bill alone was 23k) and the rent isn’t cheap… we need a decent amount of lovely customers both day and evening to continue to trade. Due to the nature of the works to be undertaken- we will be unable to trade enough hours to pay our overheads. So we have made the heart breaking decision to close what has been a successful business over the 2 years we’ve been open. No one is more heartbroken or sad than I am about having to close and not only lose a huge initial investment to re fit the unit… but more importantly feeling like I’ve let people down. When commenting/speculating on the local Portishead pages I’d please ask you to think before commenting…as everyone has their own opinions, so far we’ve heard ‘If you just would of got a dj in to play 80’s music’ or ‘if you would of had theme nights every week it’d of worked’ or even ‘if you were open 7 days and put more effort in’ Sorry, but a themed bar that plays live music or has themed nights is never what I wanted it to be- and as for putting more effort in… I have driven myself ill with the amount of effort I’ve put into this business (and I wouldn’t play that card lightly) So unless you’ve experienced this first hand, are a multi million pound business owner in the hospitality industry, or quite frankly are so confident you could of made it work with your own ideas- please do feel free to put your own life savings on the line and come down and take over my lease and ‘make it work’ There there is a small independent business owner here that’s tried there very best to bring the town something fresh & new and now faces a situation totally out of there control. I have exhausted every available avenue & gone over the figures many times to see if there is any way to remain open whilst the works continue… unfortunately we have exhausted all avenues & it’s just not meant to be… we haven’t just given up as the going’s got tough- so to those that have already decide to comment negatively & have such strong opinions when you’ve never run a business in your life… quite frankly your opinions are unwanted & a little bit embarrassing really… To the real friends that I’ve spoken to this week- especially the business owner ones that have actually gone through similar scenarios time & time again and come out bigger, better & stronger, thank you for your advice and kind words, I appreciate it so much. It’s time to do what’s best for ME & my amazing family not worry about what total strangers on the internet that have never actually been in the bar may say. Thank you for understanding me & guiding me away from negativity.

I’d like to thank my Fiancée David from the bottom of my heart for EVERYTHING & for supporting me no matter what- no one champions me more than you do- your opinion is the ONLY one that matters to me. All the members of staff that have come and gone- you all added something to the graze whether that be good or bad 😅 My reliable & dependable Faya & Charlotte… the business couldn’t of run without either of you, neither of you ever let me down, I am so very very proud of you both & wish you both my heartfelt best- you are both going to go on to amazing things…. Don’t stop until you’re proud.

Finally, please support all the small/independent businesses in your lovely town… as believe me when I say times are extremely tough for them all… and when the going gets tough they may just not be able to continue without your full support…
