Hello! With the new government rules banning some single use plastics coming into force today, it seemed like a good time to refresh and renew the Eco Kit page. It's very much a work in progress so bear with me!

CALLING ALL CRISP LOVERS
Did you know it takes 80 years for a crisp packet to decompose? Did you know that 150 of them can be ironed together and turned into a survival blanket for a homeless person and will help to keep their sleeping bag dry and insulated?

The iron man are collecting crisp packets and will be making these blankets. If you can collect them between now and Christmas we would be happy to take them off you hands! (Preferably washed first in warm soapy water)

Remember to squash your plastic bottles before recycling. Apparently if they roll off the recycling centre conveyor belt there is a good chance they won't be recycled. Sad but true!

Well I finally got rid of my used bread bags, toilet roll bags and IKEA packaging at Tesco today! I had to hunt for it in store having discovered Sainsbury's removed their facility locally.

Thank you to all of you have taken the time to look at the Dillon Eco Party Box and seen what it is all about! I intend to keep you up to date with all the comings and goings plus if there are any interesting recycling stories I come across or ideas of what to do with non-recyclable items I will share them!
