I've been in events for a long time so it's hard to believe I've never been on a Thames River Cruise.
Well here we are, we've had a full day conference with a technology company and now they're treating their clients to dinner and an evening on a boat.

So it's been a while since I've been on here! But the reason is that I've been working very hard delivering the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games!
It was always a dream of mine to work on a major sporting event and when the Games were being held so close to home, I couldn't resist.
I was Venue Operations Manager at Victoria Park for 9 days of competition and it was amazing, a great experience and lots of hard work!

Today I'm at the Sustainable Events Show at the Barbican!! Coming to learn what is new in the industry and how we can all make greater change.
Yesterday I helped produce a virtual conference for the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers . We've put in alot of hours over the past few months but it came together seamlessly. It was a mix of pre recorded content and live Q&A.
The interaction, buzz and emotion created, even though it was virtual, was a testament to the ABM organisation and the culture and inclusiveness it offers to its community! It was a real pleasure!
Tonight I'm thrilled to be back at another in person event, this time running a small table discussion over dinner. We're all set up ready to go at The Narrow by Gordon Ramsay.
This must be one of my favourite tasks - choosing music to accompany awards videos. Using music to create emotion is one of the most important aspects of getting a virtual conference just right!!
Wow what a busy week it has been and its only Wednesday!
I am have been in detailed planning for my local village fair today, which is taking place this Saturday after a 2 year hiatus! This is organised by the local Rotary club but I am leading the Stage and Arena timetable - I cant wait!
Its a double whammy this weekend as I am also organising a Hawaiian Garden party for a client at his home for 150 people. I am just wishing for some sunshine for him!
I am so thrilled to be back doing in person events.
Yesterday I was back doing an in person event for the first time in 18 months! 🎉🎉🎉
With Chill Out Event Management I ran a Customer Appreciation Dinner at the beautiful IT London restaurant in Mayfair! The event was held within covid rules for business events and everyone was saying how thrilled they were to be back attending an event! Let's hope there are lots more to come 👍💕🌟

I have been uploading some blogs today to a clients website, and its been a while since I have been using Markdown language!
Markdown is a lightweight markup language that you can use to add formatting elements to plaintext text documents and one of its main features is that is is portable and not platform dependant so it can be opened in virtually any application. I love feeling a little bit techy sometimes!!

Sunday night throwback to when business events were my weekly normal.
This awesome event for Riverbed was 3 days of meetings, brainstorms and networking held in Barcelona. We even fitted in a tour of one of Gaudi's famous buildings, La Pedrera, followed by a private dinner.

I am based near Reading in the UK. I'm originally from New Zealand but have also spent time in Singapore. I have worked in admin, training and event management roles for over 15 years now. I have been freelancing in administration and event management roles for the last 4 years since having my first child.
After the collapse of the events industry due to Covid this year, I thought now was the time to solidify my experience and promote my capabilities a little more.
