Come and soak up the Welsh Atmosphere at Sugar and Spice Ponty and Salad Bar this Wednesday from 10.30. There will be a harpist accompanying the children clog dancing, learn about Welsh traditional instruments , and if your child wishes to join in the fun there is a £5.00 tuition fee which also includes a drink and cake. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳Join us for our Mini Eisteddfod Event- we will be doing a craft, a food craft, playing instruments to Welsh songs and dancing! You will have the chance to enjoy some meat free Cawl (thanks to Anna!) and chunky bread, Welsh cakes and Bara Brith with thanks to Tesco! Of course play in our lovely role play village will be included too and we have Kerys from 'Party Perks' & 'Storytime Emporiuma' selling some toys and books!

💷This session is just £5.50 per family thanks to funding from Interlink!

📩You will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire after your session, which will help us to report back and for gaining funding for future sessions, keeping costs down for our community.

We enjoyed learning the names of the body parts in Welsh 🧠👂👣, measuring the length of arms, legs, head, feet and height of our babies for a special memorial craft. 🎨💖

As the Eisteddfod comes closer, it is important that local residents in and around Pontypridd are aware of highway and parking changes that will be in place during the evert.

The Eisteddfod will attract 160,000 visitors to Pontypridd. To manage this increase, certain car parks in Pontypridd town centre will be restricted to the general public.

🚗 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐟𝐨𝐝:
👉 Taff Street will be inaccessible to vehicles 9am-1am from August 3 to August 10. Taff Street will be a pedestrian only area during this time, with exception for permitted vehicles.
👉 Gas Road Car Park will be restricted to special permit holders only, from August 1 to August 11.
👉 Taxi Rank will be located at the top end of Taff Street until 1am outside Llys Cadwyn (Taff Vale). From 1am, the nighttime taxi rank will be located outside B&M on Taff Street.

♿ 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝𝐝𝐟𝐨𝐝:
👉 Catherine Street Car Park will be designated for accessibility/disabled parking for Eisteddfod ticket holders only, and can only be used in conjunction with a valid Blue Badge.

🚆 Residents are strongly encouraged to use public transport, cycle, or walk during the event. By doing so, you’ll help speed up your journey.

We urge visitors to the Eisteddfod not to use town centre car parks, unless for accessible parking, as they will be very busy and are needed for local people working or visiting the town centre for appointments.

Looking for FREE activities for children during the school holidays??
Pop along to our first “Colouring in the Courtyard” event on Thursday 25th July, we’re open 10am till 4pm
Entry to the Guildhall is Free, we have puzzles, games and medieval dressing up clothes, so many interesting displays about our local history and our courtyard is covered, so come rain or shine there are plenty of free activities to entertain the children.
A free Welsh cake or Chocolate bar will be waiting for any children who come along, but you must bring an adult 🤣🤣
Our tearoom serves cakes, teas & coffees and we have a fully licensed bar. 🍰🍮🍺🍷🥂
