The Advent candle has burnt down to mark my last Christmas session. They've all been delightful, with so many wonderful festive memories shared 🎄

As I pack away my Christmassy bits and bobs, I'm celebrating a brilliant first six months of The Curiosity Case, which has involved 114 sessions in 30 different settings!

I'd like to say a big thank you to all of my customers, as well as wishing you all a very Merry Christmas 🎅

Here's to 2025 with continued visits to my lovely monthly and ad hoc clients plus, as I type, another 6 new homes booked in 📆

Whilst other people are counting down 'sleeps' til Christmas, I've been counting down all of the lovely homes I've managed to squeeze in to my shortened working month for a bit of festive fun!

One of the lovely residents at Oakdale Care Home Poole took my hand as I was leaving today and, with happy tears in her eyes, said 'you always bring back such memories'.

My job is done 💼❤️

Today's Christmas treat was being invited to stay for lunch at the wonderful The Potteries Care Home ❤️

Great company, lovely food and a chance to see that the care staff are just as good with the residents as the amazing Activities team.

Having mentioned that I'm the only person in my house who likes Christmas pudding, I've been very touched with the amount of residents who have invited me to join them on Christmas Day.

Whilst I would say that 'White Christmas' is probably the favourite song among residents on my Christmas playlist, 'Rocking around the Christmas Tree' by the amazing Brenda Lee is also very popular and has a great back story... having had her first chart success in 1957 at the age of 12, this classic Christmas track was recorded the following year and still features on all-time Christmas greats lists. In recent years it has also become popular with younger generations due to Brenda herself taking to Tiktok in her late 70s! She turned 80 this week and is an inspiration to us all 🎄❤️

Residents have been delighted with my personalised Advent poem for each home, plus seeing the progress of my Advent candle, which I burn between visits. There won't be much left for my last session on 23rd! 🕯🎄

I've responded to requests from the other inhabitant of Curiosity Case HQ to put the car horn away in the Transport drawer as surprise 'tootings' are beginning to wear a bit thin! 🙉😂😂
