Diesel the macaw and I took our daily walk today, he loves the outdoors so much and I can't wait for his huge outdoor aviary to be built in the coming weeks 😀

Creature feature!

Over the next few weeks I will be running a creature feature on some of the amazing species you can expect to see when Emma’s Crazy Creatures opens to the public ❤️

Everyone meet Frazilla 💛
Frazilla is a frilled dragon, also referred to as a frilled neck lizard, frilled agama or by its scientific name Chlamydosaurus kingii.

The frilled dragon is a lizard native to northern Australia and southern New Guinea. This grey/brown lizard is normally very slender with a long tail and extremely large frills stretching from the head to the shoulders. This frill acts as additional camouflage when relaxed but it can also be spread in an impressive threat display. When threatened or surprised, the lizard can rear up on its hind legs and run quite quickly.

They are most frequently found in the humid climates such as the tropical savannah woodland.
As an arboreal lizard they prefer a place with plenty of tall trees and interlocking branches for easy movement. Generally, the lizard will only come down from the trees to hunt for food.

While there are a lot of things the lizard could eat they normally only eat insects or other small lizards.

Frazilla came to Emma’s Crazy Creatures as a rehomer after being handed in at a local pet shop. She is still very young and could live for around 10-15 years.

Fun fact- Frazilla reminds me of the dinosaur Dilophosaurus, as featured in one of my very favourite films of all time jurassic park ( the one that spits acid and eats bad guy Nedry)

Frazilla is very friendly and relaxed and rarely shows off her frills, so it was really difficult to get this picture 😆

Yesterday was little Rosie's turn to fly the nest to a beautiful family 💜
This one was a bit more emotional for me, as Rosie was the smallest pup who I had to keep a close eye on. Rosie is back next month for a little holiday so I don't have to miss her for too long 🥰

Hugo and Reggie packed their bags and went to their new homes today 💙🩶

Very emotional but also a happy day to see the joy on their new owners faces. Hugo will be back here quite regularly so I won't have to miss him too much.

Apologies for everyone waiting for me to respond to enquiries, zoo building/puppy training/parenting has got me spinning at the moment but I am doing my best to catch up 🥰

Nevile has his bags packed and went off to his amazing new home today 🧡
His new family have been on my waiting list for more than two years and have been so patient, it was magical seeing them finally being able to bring him home with them today. I just know he will be so loved and bring so much happiness and joy to a lovely family, ultimately that is what it's all about for me 😍
