My New Alpaca chariot has arrived!
Once it’s kitted out with an air flow system, wipe clean matting & racking to store my own. I’ll be good to go starting in spring 2025
It brings new adventures for me.

To start with I will be taking the Fluffy Butts to Kent Coast Haven every Tuesday during the school holidays. Offering Meet & Greets & mini trek’s along the coast line for their guests.

EXCITING NEWS

We had the absolute pleasure of having Connor Gordon & Amy Furrents visit us on last week.

Connor reached out to us when I posted on FB asking for volunteers to help harvest Seaview Wildflower Meadow here In the Isle Of Grain Coastal Park.

I personally have wanted to work with these guys since we started the farm, so this is a dream come true!

He then shared with us the conservation work they are doing out here in the village.

The Fenn Bell Conservation Project
are passionate about saving endangered species, conservation education and research. This is reflected through their species and habitat surveys for pollinating insects, fundraising events and the collaborative work do with local schools and colleges.

In 2023/24: Keepers have been able to participate in collecting data to show Medway is home to an extremely rare Shrill Carder Bumblebee species. – Rare Shrill Carder Bee found on the Isle of Grain by keepers from Fenn Bell zoo (kentonline.co.uk)

At the Farm we are actually on the “B-Lines” that run through the countryside.

* B-Lines are an imaginative and beautiful solution to the problem of the loss of flowers and pollinators. The B-Lines are a series of ‘insect pathways’ running through our countryside and towns, along which we are restoring and creating a series of wildflower-rich habitat stepping stones. They link existing wildlife areas together, creating a network, like a railway, that will weave across the UK landscape. This will provide large areas of brand new habitat benefiting bees and butterflies– but also a host of other wildlife.

We are now working with a Company called Buglife that are funding wildflower seeds & plug plants for us to plant at the farm to encourage the insects & Bees to pollinate in our area.
