Thanks for hiring us at your halloween party this week Cheryl Archer. The team work for washing and drying up definitely worked wonders.

To anyone else hosting a party, if you get some helpful parents who are happy to lend a hand, then a 3 person system worked really well this week:
- 1 person collecting cups/plates/items
- 1 person washing up
- 1 person drying up/putting away in the box

If you do your own washing up then it saves us a job here at base and saves you money on your party hire!

What I love about our little party kit hire, is everytime someone uses us, the kids learn a little more about business (and life) skills. They get to have a go at inputting the data on a spreadsheet, counting the items, preparing the kit and generally having some responsibility and learning about how to run a business.

Recently, myself and the kids spent hours re-designing our flyer and they learnt so much about designing software / using a computer, so here is our up to date flyer.

Happy Birthday to my daughter Millie, aged 9 today.

The party kit was set up last year by me (Sam) and my eldest daughter Millie.

I am a home educating mum in Rochford, Co-founder of the Eco Essex online community and I am an Occupational Therapist by background.

Living as ethically and sustainably as possible is important to our family and this party kit is a way of me introducing the real world of work to my children in a fun way about a topic close to our hearts.

We have a few Halloween 🎃 dishes if anyone wants to be our first Halloween 👻 customer!

For this once-a-year event, please please borrow halloween bits from your friends for that party, make recyclable or edible decorations or buy second hand.

💚£300 million is spent at Halloween each year in the UK
💚94% of families intend on buying an outfit (when they could just borrow one or atleast purchase second hand)
💚7 million costumes are binned each year

Suggestions:
👻Borrow an outfit
🎃Make one out of rag textiles at home
🪓Go to the local charity shop to get one second hand
⚰️Try out Vinted, Ebay or Facebook Marketplace for other second hand options
🍽️ You are likely to have a friend or family member who has Halloween decorations/dishes so borrow borrow borrow! Or check out your nearest reusable party kit hire company near you to hire!

Don't leave it last minute because then you are more likely to panic and use convenience shopping to buy one (new)
